Just drove from L.A. to Arizona yesterday no problem. Then today while doing 30 on a small street it seems my transmission has failed. The car is a 1986 Honda Civic Shuttle (only FWD)
While driving along it seemed to have popped out of gear, suddenly throttle input would just rev the engine. The clutch pedal feels like normal, I can shift into any gear but each one simply makes a light grinding noise when I let the clutch out.
Any ideas on what might have failed? And Any tips on replacing it? Is there a specific year/type transmission I should look for to have better gearing? (I live in the mountains)
Thanks,
Kevin
