I bought 13x8's with a 5" backspace, they fit just fine, stick out about 3/4-1" past the fenders. The only thing they interfer with is my DIY brake line brackets.

so if i got some 13x6's with a 4" backspace, do you think the tire tread would be visible from above when running a 185/60? ITC class rules say it can't be seen from above and no rim wider than 6". aero race wheels has a sale: 13x6 w/4" backspace are $50 a piece.

i would think it would be okay...but damn close if you have 3/4-1" showing and my backspace would be 1" less.

beer is good for you.

I think someone nailed it by saying it's a drifter trend. They need cars stiff and predictable, So I guess it works for them. Otherwise, I suppose it's a good way to get the rim closer the fender.... Still kinda silly IMHO.

umm..errr..no.

the whole safety thing just throws me right the hell off this trend/bad idea. the sidewall is there to flex (hence lower profile tires for less flex) with nowhere to go the bead will just pop off the rim and cause catastrophic failure..

Yes, but it's that catastrophic failure that's so cool to watch. People can never turn away from a car wreck.

Once a woman is introduced to Colonel Angus, she'll settle for nothing less.

We used to do that in the Mid 80s. Celicas with 15x8.5 Centerlines running 195/50 R15.

Just picked up a pair of Hakkapeliitta W240 studed snow tires for my Trek Valencia bicycle. The Valencia rims were designed for 32mm tires and and the Hakkapeliitta's are 40mm. Them's stretched tirez. I be baaad.

And I thought that tire streching was german shit, but in Honda's too? biggrin.gif In here it's now came very popular to put your vag lick the field and strech your tires as much as possible. Don't like that style IMO.
