Car arrived at the workshop this morning, we had to clean out the inside as it was full of 'bits' including about 4 sets of driveshafts...
things we noticed: no rear brakes on the car, no exhaust, wicked rollcage and massive 150L long range fuel tank
interesting combination: browntop block/blacktop head/browntop dissy/browntop CG LSD Gbox
thats it for now... we're planning a plan of action - harness is first - getting rid off all the useless stuff!

Now there is a great story. A local - Neil McCrudden - has a collection of old open wheeler cars - the WA Racing Museum is the 'owner', but thats how it is organised. He offers them to careful enthusiasts to rebuild and race. url is http://www.warm.org.au/home.htm
That is a Jane/ Brabham BT23, and there is a write-up on the cars history. Driven by Lance Cardawine who owns the workshop. He recently returned from a trip to South Africa where they raced these cars - but the jane brabham wasn't one of them.
Satisfaction guaranteed, Rob.

Ian and I spent good 6hrs on the car today.
We replaced back hubs, rotors and axles off an integra, changed the torsion bars from 20mm to 21mm and reindexed so its lower now, interga front brake hubs and Tokico Illumina suspension all around in the 4 corners. We also installed the hand brake leaver and cables into the car - surprisingly this car has no rear brakes and handbrake was deleted out very early...

no need for a handbrake if there are no rear brakes LOL - the only thing on there were axles.

Just an update
Suspension is now back in. Illuminas all round, a set of kone springs in the rear - no idea of spring rate, sorry - and teg torsion bars. Waiting for some 24 mm torsion bars to arrive. We may need to relook at the rear springs then, but I have a selection of the small diameter ones ex front dampers from tegs and preludes.
Integra hubs, rotors, master cylinder and calipers all round. We didn't go bigger on the front as the race rims we have wouldn't fit even with spacers.
Wiring harness from B16 shell laid out, with the engine bay fuse box in the cabin where the fan usually is, and the cabin fuse box relocated to a central spot under the dash. The B16 instrument pod occupies a hollowed out dash - not pretty but it works. Once everything is connected and working we will tie the wiring harness down.
Race seat is in. That was a nice part today - sitting in the seat was a good feeling.
We are just about ready to install the engine and gear box. I reckon we are about 40% of the way to being able to put the car round a track.
