i was on sonny web site. An he is say the zc cams are a little off spec?? They should work fine in a d16a1.. right...with these cam in the d16a1 it should still pass emissions....

it should pass. you time them by the alignment pins, not the cam wheels. one cam will appear to be one tooth off, but that is correct.

Might pass but itll run worse than the stock cams would. We tried this with Johns crx about a year or so ago. ZC cams arent designed to run in the d16a1 head.

the q uestion is what year zc cams...
1g zc cams (brown tops) 84-87 will pop right in dont know about inspection
2g zc cams 88-91 will also fit but timming is off and you need adjustable came gears to get imming right

ok well, on sonneys page he didnt use it but this is my train of thought that even if u time the ZC cam shafts correctly and jus leave the the tooth on timing cam off one tooth. why wouldnt it be able to wrk that way.

yes it is 2nd zc cams for the 88-91.

Well, i maybe it depends on what ZC cams you have. I have browntop ZC cams in my d16a1, and it runs very well.

If it helps, I have the whole ZC in my car and it got BETTER emissions than the old Ew which also passed. I would assume if the rest of the motor is fine you shan't have any problems.
