Back in the earlier 90's there was a toy truck that had plastic accsorys that you would "weld" on with a plastic welder that came w/ the toy. Unfortunetly this toy, the welder and the plastic welding rods were discontunued w/ in a year of production... If these welding rods were still in production, they would be PERFECT for repairing our plastic parts on out cars!
Wasn't that the "Spin Welder"? My cousin's kids had that toy. There was a little electric drill thingy, which was used to spin a small "welding" rod on your target parts. From the friction the rod would melt at the tip, tacking the parts together. Naturally the kids tried to weld stuff on each other after they got bored with trying to assemble the truck. Good times, good times.
Hmmm...I'll prowl the flea markets and I might find a way to fix my rocker panels!
