Are You Going To Vote?

Mrfixit's Photo Mrfixit 29 Oct 2008

So if you use goods and services that you do not pay for... that is stealing.

Isn't that what taxes pay for

If you decide that you do not want the "government" to tell you what goods and services to pay for, that is also stealing.

And I am sure that you can list all of the government goods and services that you "do not use."

So if at some point, you need a hospital or a road to drive to the hospital, or a doctor who has been educated at a public university.... then you will be happy to build a hospital, pave a road and educate a doctor in the 15 minutes that will be the difference between life and death.

A doctor educated in a public university? Where?
Build a hospital? Grants(taxes) and private funds.
Build a road? Taxes.

I am all for that Rugged Individualist BS, it makes for a good Cowboy Movie. But the reality is that No Man Is An Island.

Why is it that the guys from Texas feel so disenfranchised about voting? Is it something in the drinking water? It seems like all the posters from the Lone Star State want to retreat to their bunker and polish their weapons.

Scott

It stems from the 1800's when Texas was an independent nation, and they were tricked by John McCain into joining the United States loosing their indepenence. "W" was Texas' revenge on us. Like the Ying and Yang. "W" is the evil, whereas Walker, Texas Ranger, is the good.

Is this a topic I misses being debated?

I have a right to vote, I have a right to not vote, me not voting is not stealing, me not taking an active interest of the workings of the US electoral process is not steeling. If i can't find a viable candidate that meets my needs as a citizen, I don't have to vote for "the lesser of two evils" I am not going to vote for someone just so someone else has a less of a chance of winning.

Mayfield and New York area.

The reason Texas residents jump at the fact to hold up there guns is cause we ain't like the french. We hold our fort even if it means total annihilation. Remember the Alamo!!!!!!!!

Okay. now that Obama has won, I am making a mix tape for him. It starts with "Nothings gonna stop us now" by Starship, and ends with "Back in black" by AC/DC. Question is, since he isn't in the White House yet, and he's resigned his Senate office, where do I send the tape too?
