i have an SI rubber wing, i could make one, but my car was very mistreated by the previous owner, and the wing is really warped. And I wouldn't know how to go about getting the bolts into it. sorry guys

Which Si spoiler would you want to do though? The '85 is completely different from the '86-'87 one.

If I recall correctly there are more than a few folks here that prefer the looks of the 85 model over the later years. Personally, I prefer the looks of the later one over the '85 model. Looks slicker aerodynamically.

I also would like to get a fiberglas or CF copy of the 86-87 Si rear spoiler. The foam piece weighs about 15 pounds.

The Mugen rear spoiler is very similar to the 86-87 Si spoiler, they are "almost" the same.

"Why was the rear spoiler made out of foam?" In Europe, spoilers/wings had to be made out of a soft materiel to prevent pedestrians from getting sliced up by hard/sharp spoilers and wings.

I would love to have a fiberglass copy of the si spoiler, i swear I have seen one on a kit before.

in that case i will attempt to make one. i just bought a house with a garage so ill have room to work. when things calm down(yeah right) i will get started. i think the 86-87 wing looks better too so that will be what i try to copy. wish me luck.

I would be willing to donate my extra 85 Si wing to the cause, only problem is I am in Iraq, but I might be able to get my wife to send it.

What about one without the cutout for the rear wiper? For us DX and HF guys who don't have a rear wiper?

The 86-87 Si wing has no cut out for the rear wiper, it's a piece of foam that sticks off of the back of the car.

The Mugen wing is much like the SI wing, but it's "Scooped" out on the bottom-facing facet.

It still sticks off the back, completely... like the 86-87, but the underside of it has been scooped out to reduce the weight. The factory wing does weigh a bit.

You can see the "scooping" I'm talking about if you look at the second gen's wing from Mugen. The principle is the same.
