#428284 Rear Disk Brake Swap...
Posted by '85-SI on 16 February 2009 - 01:39 PM in FS
I've got a near complete disk brake swap for the 1g. Calipers, rotors, backplates, hoses, teg proportioniong valve, and all the hardware except for the backing plate studs (integra's are a little longer, and you need em). No trailing arms or hubs, use your existing. Make me an offer and if the price is right I can probably swing by the junkyard and snatch up the studs? Your call.
Edit: parts are in san diego, CA. Prefer local since shipping would be pricey.
#427714 Car Jumpy In 1st Gear Bad...motor Mounts?
Posted by '85-SI on 11 February 2009 - 01:48 PM in 1G CRX
No the engine is fine and it doesn't do it all the time it will only do it if the engine is at the correct RPM to allow the drivetrain to be right at freewheel, right at the edge of throttle and none while rolling. It's like there is slop in the drivetrain and it bucks back and forth. It's kind of hard to explain obviously.

#426979 Car Jumpy In 1st Gear Bad...motor Mounts?
Posted by '85-SI on 06 February 2009 - 05:42 PM in 1G CRX
Seems like I'm all sorts of busy here lately so here's another question for the masses. The car wants to jump and buck if I so even blip the throttle at al, it's almost impossible to get back to smooth driving without clutching it. Does this sound like worn out motor mouts. If not, any ideas. I'm going to be installing a 6 puck sprung and a lot of motor work, so I figure I should get that situated first.
Thanks all...
Thanks all...

What offset wheels are you running? I have 15X8's with a 38mm with no problem with rolled inner lip. Another question, if you are "tucking" a 13" wheel (or tire) you must have some serious drop going on... What size tires are they? Suspension travel is limited as it is, too much drop on the back = very bad thing in even spirited driving...
I won't try to pull you away from going back to drums however... I need a set of Teggy e-brake cables, you got them? I want them...

Not sure of the offset at this point...did those wheels come in different offsets? Im too lazy to pull one to look right now. And no the cables are the one things I didn't get off the donor...too much work for an e-brake, haha...

OK, so I seamed to have snagged a car from a buddy that needed money to move. I probably paid too much, but I guess it will work. Anyways...
I will need:
86-89 teg front hubs and brakes, hell, might as well toss on the rears as well....who's got some?
A torsion bar set... I might just get the Upgrade Motoring 29mm one, unless someone has something.
I'll need a sweet adjustable pan-hard bar.
camber plates.
and I'll add more to the list when I decide what else I want...

#426715 1g Rear Disk Issue?
Posted by '85-SI on 04 February 2009 - 02:16 PM in 1G CRX
It rubs driver bad, and passenger not as muxh but still really close... I'm going to make this whole install that much easier and go back to the drums. I like my ride height so that's not an option and I like the 13" 10 spokes as well. I will just run some HF drums and save the weight. Not the end of the world and it seems as if its the cheapest way out of this little situation. A do appreciate all the info though. The disks aren't that important that I'm gonna reinvent the wheel to get them to fit.

With 450lb springs and rancho rs9000s I can rule out soft suspension. Its simply a track width issue. I drive the thing about as low as it will go without destroying the thing. Short of reinventing the wheel, I think going back to drums is my quickest solution. I appreciate all the help, and I should have known with the need for longer wheel studs!!! I didn't put two and two together until the car was rolling... Oh well, always learning!
