#494972 Mugen Pro For Sale... $1,000

Posted by JMSBND on 29 June 2010 - 05:52 PM in General Posts

Some interesting cars turn up over there. I went into our motorsport tyre shop over the road some months back here in Australia, and the Bathurst Brock VP Commodore Group A car was on display. Real Icon car over in Australia. We got chatting - and turns out it was rescued from Arabia from a young rich fellow who just drove it around and used it to do burnouts. The owner over here paid $5000.00AUD plus shipping to bring it back. The car is now valued at over %250,000.00!

Good CRX - someone in the USA surely could save it? It's LHD so not sure how Australia would view it as an import........

Deposit via paypal done...........I found my answer after reading carefully through the posts again. GT Pilot's answer and Kakabox too for the shaft solution with Teg hubs/driveshafts that I have standard with the DOHC ZC solved it!

Now I need to go find 2 Civic RH short shafts at the yard............Backyard hybrid shafts FTW!!!

Thanks.

OK We now have 12 sets committed to.

Time is getting short to get your deposits in.

Deposit in. Too good to pass up. Esecially for a part that as long as I don't mash into a wall or another car - should no longer need to be replaced!..........In theory lol!

#491804 Stress/fatigue Cracking?

Posted by JMSBND on 21 May 2010 - 08:43 PM in 1G CRX

It can be common in a few cars once they develop high levels of grip/larger power. Saw it in my old GT Replica XW Falcon when I was young. The lead wiped join where the rear quarter panel joined the roof.

Roll cage = good as new!

Put a rollcage in it........that should stiffen it up abit and relieve the stress on the shell cool.gif

QUOTE (toxicshit @ May 20 2010, 06:48 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
i would have an interest in the teg hubs as all the ( EDM ) European CRX's came with those knuckles stock.. ( ZC1AS 1.6 engine ) im currently running a bseries engine and some expensive custom hybrid axles so i am not realy thinking of using 1/3g USDM hubs and converting the axles again.

so if there will be a TEG / Lager spline hub i would think about it. i also know some other guys over here in Europe that maybe could use some.

Greetings Erwin.
ps. has someone checked with the (1st Gen Teg) integra guys ?? i know marcus sells his stuff over there too or did that board disappear? i know they also would buy some sets if they are interested.

I suspect my JDM CRX with the ZC in it is the same. Got the new rattle gun and airhose so I will find out Saturday. But I think EDM/JDM are the same here given they both run the ZC standard.

#490477 Swapping Tb On A Zc To D16a3

Posted by JMSBND on 09 May 2010 - 05:39 AM in 1G CRX

QUOTE (1985 CRX SI @ May 9 2010, 05:34 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I would think you would need to replace the whole intake manifold to get the throttle body to work properly.
Jeff

Thanks Jeff,

I have that too. I was just thinking it looked a little less restrictive compared to the twin butterfly ZC one.

#490474 Swapping Tb On A Zc To D16a3

Posted by JMSBND on 09 May 2010 - 02:37 AM in 1G CRX

Hey guys,

Just did the road trip and picked up an 87 Teg for the disc brake rear. A side note, my TPS on the DOHC ZC is playing up in the CRX and I noticed it runs a dual butterfly TB. Looks a little restrictive - could I swap on the D16A3 with the single larger TB butterfly instead off the Teg? If so you think it will be ok for power etc? Don't want to go backwards.

Interesting note too, this Teg was built in Oct 1986!!! Landed in Jan 87 so complianced an 87 model. But judging by the tags it's build number 25? VERY early car here in Australia. It's pretty tired, rust starting but for $181.00 off ebay good for the disc swap, spare engin/trans, ECU just good parts then off to scrap.

Has an F1 bodykit too but she is rough. Parked on a dairy farm and was home to a family of frogs inside it was like a sauna in there!

James.

I hear it's a false drop in stock values. Some kind of computer glitch that prevented people from trading Proctor and Gamble for a couple of hours. Combine that with the Euro shit, and the oil spill, a stupid jackass trying to blow up Times Square, financial reform working through congress, yada yada, and a ton of people panicked. It will all come back. wink.gif

There's a ton going on right now, and Wall Street has no fucking spine. Their just a bunch of pussies.

My worthless two cents.

If I had a radio program you sir would be officially hired as my finance and stocks commentator!!!!
