there's a pretty good chance that you wouldn't even make it to the expressway, let alone through NYC. although i would be interested to see how far you make it.

well...exactly how much work would it need to make an 100mile drive, what exactly is wrong with it?

well its monday and i still have the car if you want it. you really need to look at the picture. there is absolutey no way you could get away with driving this thing. it's a 100% race car. its setup to turn left, has no windows, lights, interior, exhaust or bumpers and the doors are welded shut. if you don't plan on using the parts or to race circle track then its useless to you. however i have made arrangements for it to be picked up by the junkyard this weekend because i can't store it. i'd much rather some use it. so if you have the means to tow it, please take it.

i have an ew4 engine, a pe7 head and colt stage 2 tri-flow cam, a head from an 87 1.5 (i'll get the code tomorrow) and a pg7 ecu. i have an entire 86 civic si car. its been stripped for racing so theres only mechanical parts, the engine over heated the last time i ran it. if anyone wants anything let me know. the car is on long island ny.

do a search in google for it. you can find all the correct release agents and molding compounds. i've seen a couple of write ups on it. just don't expect perfection unless you have a lot of free time. that stuff is hard to get right the first time off.

i really after the valve timing but this is also very helpful. i don't have a timing light that i can turn back but my car is a race only vehicle. its also totally stripped so there should be far less load. you said yours is all the way toward the firewall, mine is about half way however my head was milled a bit too. do you know what your total advance is and at what rpm do reach full advance. also have you ever messed with the advance curve.

anyone have any good suggestions on where to set the cam timing with a stage 2 colt cam in an ew4. this car will never see a dyno but i'm sure somebody has already done this. any help would be great.

that sound is a resonance within the entire intake system. its present on both fi and carbed motors. but on carbs the sound is damped by the presence of fuel in the manifold where the sound intiates. you can make any setup sound like that but you would need to tune the intake size in length and diameter. and the size intake that makes that sound may not make the most power.

the up mark doesn't matter. just position the two dash marks inline with the head just after the intake valves close on the #1 cylinder. this way your cam is staged for compression. i just had my head off my ew this weekend and it started up first time.
