#578628 Si Cylinder Head, '88 Integra Tranny, '88 Integra Fuel Tank

Posted by WhereIsMyWrench on 02 October 2017 - 06:33 PM in FS

Have a freshly decked Si cylinder head for sale. I believe it was from an '87. Valves were professionally ground. All it needs is valve stem seals and reassembly. Looking for $75. You cover shipping from 32771 (Central Florida)  SOLD

Also have a transmission from a 1988 Acura Integra. Shift linkage was cut but trans was working without issue when it was pulled. I drove it 50 miles home and used every gear and everything worked great. 125k miles. Would like $75 and you cover shipping from 32771

1988 Integra fuel tank. Has surface rust on outside but the inside is as good as new. Will take $25 and you cover shipping from 32771.

Will have other various '87 Carb'd EW engine parts for sale soon. Weber 32/36, all long block parts etc. Swapping to Integra motor this fall. Let me know if there is something you need.

Thanks,

Pat

#577969 Efi To Carb (Side Draft Carbs)?

Posted by WhereIsMyWrench on 17 May 2017 - 10:33 AM in 1G CRX

I don't have any direct experience with going from FI to Carb but I have a carby car. You could install an external low-pressure electric pump near the tank and get a fuel pressure regulator and set it up for 3 psi. Another option is to use the DX camshaft which would allow you to use the stock DX mechanical fuel pump. The DX camshaft is longer and has an extra lobe that runs the mechanical fuel pump. You'd have to find a DX camshaft though.

Hopefully someone with some experience doing this will chime in.

#577920 Hood Stuck

Same as above, part of my cable broke once. You can put it on jack stands and, with good lighting and a large screwdriver, move the latch mechanism manually to the left (driver's side) and it will pop open.

#577846 Ew1 Head Rebuilt Not Idling

It could be either timing or a vacuum leak or both.

If you can get someone to help you, you can test for vacuum leaks by spraying around the intake manifold and carb mating surfaces with some carb cleaner while someone keeps it running. You'd have to try to maintain a certain rpm and then spray while listening for any rpm increase. That would indicate a vacuum leak. Also, try to just listen while you keep it running. A large vacuum leak will be quite evident.

As far as timing, obviously make sure the marks on the cam and crank are lined up as well as the distributor.

Another possibility is that your carb isn't adjusted properly or needs to be rebuilt.

Personally, I'd ensure I got the timing right before I messed around with anything else. This will ensure that you aren't going to cause any damage while testing for other issues. At the very minimum, make sure you have it set right on the cam/crank side so you aren't causing damage to your newly rebuild head.

#577607 87 Crx Dx D15A2 Cylinder Head Swap

Posted by WhereIsMyWrench on 06 March 2017 - 09:12 AM in 1G CRX

Hi Darrell,

You can put an Si head from a D15a3 on. You can use the intake manifold and carb from your current setup. Use the Si inner valve springs and DX outer valve springs along with the DX camshaft, distributor and fuel pump.

There's some threads about this out there. Search for D15a2 head swap.

Pat
