CRX door panel swap
From RPRWiki
For those of you who want 86-87 interior door panels on your 84-85 crx without having to swap the whole door this is how I did it.
To start you have to have the panels, arm supports, and the lever with rods.
Once you get the panels off cut a hole where the new lever will be going.
Most of the holes line up. When you get the old lever off there will be a little square hole for a plastic split nut thing. I just robbed one that was nut in use and put it there.
Next Line up the lever where its going to be. I hooked the rods up and let it float, then put the panel on and lined it up marked it with a marker. You get the idea. Once you get it cut just screw in the bottom screw. Just to the right is where the upper armrest support is mounted. there are already 2 screws there just screw them in. The third screw is shared with the door lever it will have to be drilled for the screw. I think that I used an 1/8" bit and it did fine.
THe last hole that will be drilled is for the rear support for the armrest. Just put the panel and mark. Next you will want to drill a hole large enough for the plastic split nut that you took off the parts door.
And finally swap the main support bracket for the armrest. All holes line up with out any mods.
That should just about cover it. Oh yeah it took about 1.5 hrs each for me. First time doing this.
Any questions feel free to ask.
