Anyone know this guy or know anything about him? blink.gif

This is all I really know about him.
From this link I bought $290 worth of stuff from him via USPS and Money Orders.
(Guess I should not have trusted a non-RPR guy…)

Both money orders were cashed.
One on 05/04/04 and the other on 05/08/04.
And the USPS delivery confirmation says they came to his address.

He says he has never received the money orders. wink.gif
He is now ignoring all my e-mails. wink.gif mad.gif
I plan to call him tonight. ph34r.gif

Anyone know this fellow?

Thanks,
Garth

Hmm.. won't accept PAYPAL... no pics cause camera is 'broken'. Ughh.. I hate people like this. He may have given you a false address. Is the phone number right?

I hope this guy comes clean with you, if he's in the wrong. Sounds that way though. Money orders can only be cashed by those who's name is on it right?

Sorry man,
Kirk

BTW, what did you buy.. wouldn't hurt for someone to send him an email requesting a part he sold to you.. see if he offers to sell it again. mad.gif

I will only accept Pay Pal. It isn't 100%, but it is the best way I can get my money back if somebody tries to stiff me. There has only been one occasion that Pay Pal hasn't been able to get my money back.

The only other currency I take is CASH IN HAND!

The reason for selling is because I rolled my CRX rally racing so I'm selling the parts that are in good shape off of it.

Yet look at the parts he is selling, body kit, 17" wheels, and a stereo system. (on a RALLY car?) And also he is selling a DC header while also selling a turbo system blink.gif And we all know the only CF hoods are Mr. Disibilitys ones. And I never trust brand new users with low posts.

Not trying to drag you down more just pointing these things out to avoid future rip offs.

I really hope you can get your money back!

I was once in a similar situation. I gathered all the information, and emailed the details to the guy's local District Attorney's office. They sent a large police officer to the bad guy's home and I got my money back eventually.

Or contact the US Postal Service. They love to prosecute Mail Fraud which is a Federal offense.

Thanks guys.
I usually one do e-bay, pay-pal, or folks I know. This was my first time to send a MO to someone I did not know / someone without a reputation.

I called him today.
I’ll leave it at that for now.
We will see what happens and I will let yall know if he is safe to buy from.
(Although I doubt anyone would try…)

Appreciatively,
Garth

I like the "Ported and polished EW1 head, adds 75 horses to a stock EW1" Is that even possible? Or is that compared to a headless EW1? biggrin.gif

And "REAL JDM Gauge cluster goes to 140 mph" Aren't the JDM clusters in km/h?

It's times like these I appreciate how lucky I was buying my CRX off of ebay from a low feedback user... I sent $1000 in money orders sight-unseen, and basically relied on good faith for him to send me the title. Fortunately he was a good guy, but he very well could have tried to run off with the money. tongue.gif

Good luck!

I just don't get how people can screw people over. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I did something like that. I'm a real nice person, give people the benifit of the doubt every time.. but I know how to watch out for those that will screw me, and I steer clear of them.

If I get a bad vibe about something, I'm out. Instincts work.

Thank guys, I appreciate the support.
I have sent MO’s to folks I don’t know from RPR and you guys are simply awesome!

Ryan here is another story.
Long story short:
- He did not call / e-mail me back as promised
- I explained to him via e-mail what legal actions I was going to take
- He then replied back that his neighbors Son stole the money and that he would send it back ASAP as he has now sold the parts to someone else
- I gave him a deadline

We will see... ph34r.gif

This is exactly the same scenario that I endured. Of course my guy never came through as promised, there was always a "problem" out of his control. On the deadline date, call or write the authorities.

Here's my 2 cents... When I had a problem with a mechanic that stiffed my mother on some repairs ( I was away when she did this mad.gif ) I was told by an attorney to make sure that you keep all written docs including any e-mails (print them out). I would also copy the web ad that he posted along with the address. Also send a letter to this person via Fed Ex, UPS or USPS w/ delivery confirmation and signature stating what your intentions are along with a reasonable deadline. Keep it professional. If the deadline passes you could send another letter stating that you are going to seek further action. Also get any and all info like the dates that the MO's cashed. This is something that you should do to keep you covered. Even if he refuses to accept it, at least you showed that you tried to make an effort to contact this guy. You can then submit this to the Postal Service and local authorities. It helped me. I got the mechanic to reimburse me to get the car fixed right somewhere else with just the letter and a phone call. wink.gif

Good luck and I hope that you get you money back!!

Lapeer MI is about 1/2 north west from me. All I can say is it's in the sticks inhabited by hicks. Though suburbia is creeping into it the last few years...
