Last April and May i signed up for a compition on the dutch tracks for 2011.
In April it was on Assen and the Civic did really well for his 125 hp!
Skylines and 250hp monsters where no match fot the Civic!
So in May i was placed in a faster class.
200hp Civic's all around!
http://www.rpmvision...street-exhausts
This time it was on Zandvoort and i know the track well, but it went wrong in the warming-up!
The left real tire went beside the curps and lost grip in the sand..
The Civic turned and stopt into the tire-wall..
Not a lot of damage... but enough.. After a wile my neck really hurts and i went to the first aid-station.
5 weeks later a got all the parts to re-build the Civic and then it will go round on the track!
In the first minute i came by with hi revs and a lot of noice!
few seconds later you can hear the crash and the people are stunned..

I hope that you weren't hurt badly. Have you looked into getting a hans device?
I'm amazed at how fast you were able to source parts. Where I'm located (US-New York), none of the salvage yards keeps our cars in inventory. I guess I'll acquire a parts car one of these days...
Glad that you have the car ready again. I really enjoyed reading through your resto. You do very nice work.
Best regards,
Elliot

Thanx..
Parts are very rare here to.
But a member of Civic Club Holland helped me. He found a Civic on the junkyard near his home.

It's time for some major updates!
Also this year I signed up again with the Dutch Time Attack compitition.
Last few weeks the Civic had some big updates/upgrades.
Another 4 weeks to go for the first race and there's still a lot to do!
Things that have been adapted:
- Coolant oil cooler mounted.
- ITR rear swaybar is over. ( 24mm)
- Full Rally AST shock absorbers mounted. ( Custom made , 14 way adjustible )
- Rear wheels more camber.
- Front torsion bars replaced. (20 mm---21 mm and shorter)
- Front swaybar replaced. (16 mm--20 mm)
- Crx AXLE steering rack mounted.
- The bodywork is reinforced with pop rivets in a number of places.
- Masterkillswitch pull cable mounted.
Stll to do :
- A lot!!

What are the advantages of using a shorter torsion bar?

The shorter the bar, the stiffer it is. But the thickness has a greater impact than the length.
In this case though, I think it's more just a "cause that's how they came" thing. Pretty sure those are 3G Wagon bars. Those are shorter than standard Civic/CRX bars.
Is the sway bar out of a Wagon also?
Why didn't you replace the torsion bars with 27mm aftermarket units?

The frontswaybar also came from a wagon.
27 mm torsionbars i found them to expensive for now.
Will see what the car will do now on the track. 27mm torsionbars can be a next upgade later this year.
