Getting this thread started early.

Same as I've hosted the last 2 years.



(1 Vote) Oct 6-7 date includes races both days as the NCAC race. Due to it being NCAC there will be no free novice day on Saturday.
(2 Votes) Oct 13-14 would not have the race, but was the date I had originally planned before the race was moved up a week to support hosting NCAC.

So you are saying I can't just show up out of the blue?

You can, but getting to the race you will have to be a passenger in someone's car that was registered. Having proper ID would be a requirement too. Remember the local race is on a runway/taxiway, so security is a little higher that most places. Keith made it to the event in 2010, he can comment on it from a more of an outside view looking in that I can.

I plan to make this event again in 2012. I should bring the '85 race car again, and camp.

This is good event, nice autocross location, that is well-organized/run.

Just got word at the Cape Fear chapter NCR-SCCA meeting the Oct race may get moved up a week to the 6-7 and may also be the NCAC race... if that happens I hear number of racers may go up alot. But, if this becomes the NCAC race I see no reason our active racing RPR members on the west side of the state can't make it.

Yeah, it is a maybe. I know NCAC is normally a 2 day event, at this site we normally to a novice day as part of our agreement with the site on Saturday, not sure how that will work if we are doing a 2 day event. Maybe we have to do the novice day Friday evening. Maybe our site "handler" says we can't change date. I know the chapter president is looking into the options as I think he would like to host NCAC this year.

Well, I spoke with the Jan (Site Handler) at the last race and she said that in the contract we already reserved both the first and second weekends in Oct. But the current thought from the chapter pres is that we will only use one weekend or the other, even though we could use both. Meeting is tomorrow night, will hopefully know more then.

OK, at the meeting tonight it was announced that the race is Oct 6-7th and will be the NCAC race (2 day event) So I guess we can take a poll of the preferred weekends of those interested.

So given a choice of a meet at 28532 would you rather it on the 6-7 and revolve around the NCAC race on the runway/taxiway?
Or, would you rather keep the original 13-14th date and just skip the race part.

I know a couple days late, The votes are in, the masses (2) want it on Oct 13-14th. So this will be the date for the official meet, just not a Meet `n Race due to the race being moved after first announced. That said, if anyone, likely our NC Auto-xing members, wants to hang out the weekend before during NCAC you are welcome. I will be racing both days car permitting.
