THAAAAAAAANK YOU.
It's even cheaper than the Mazda6 depending on the options and such, AND I get to cut out the ABS on the Fusion.

I don't know what my credit score is, shouldn't be too bad since I usually pay my bills promptly (plus with the state job that should count for something too). Again, I just don't like the idea of leasing. When I get something, I like it being mine, not just borrowing or renting it for awhile.

I wanted a Honda... but again they just haven't rubbed me the right way since the 92-95 models. Up to 2000 was kinda tolerable, that's about it.

Yeah, everyone has their own opinions of course...its just a lot nicer to lets say lease the ford you are looking at....pay a little less a month every month...and when you are sick of it after the factory warantee runs out, you can just give it back, instead of being "upside down" with negative equity if you purchased it. Also, you are paying for the full taxes, instead of paying for taxes each month. Let alone interest.

But dont listen to me, ill keep rambling on.....i sell cars for a living tongue.gif

Thing is.. what do I do when I'm done with the lease? I don't have a vehicle for a trade in, I'm basically back at square 1 where I am now and the most appealing choice would probably be lease again. I'd really rather buy (it'd be an extra $150 a month or some such for another year, not that much for a little peace of mind that I actually own it I think).

Well you said it yourself, what do i do with it when i am done? You can just give it back.....or if you love it, you can buy it out for the same price as if you purchased it in the first place. You can also trade it in, if it is worth more than what the lease purchase is for, and pocket the money

leasing leaves options.....purchasing is usually an obligation with no options.

Fords depreciate horribly.....if you buy it, expect to be in a negative equity position until probably the last year of your 5-6 year term.

When you get to hondas and toyotas, its a little different....but the biggest difference is on the expensive cars like mb, bmw, etc.

Its just nice to drive something for cheaper than what you would buy it for, giving you more car per dollar, and allows you to drive something brand new, more often, for the same price.

Not to mention the downpayment is almost always less, taxes are less, blah blah blah

But if you drive an excessive amount of miles....more than 20k a year, dont bother tongue.gif Im not trying to change your mind, just being bored at work hahhaa

Fix Our Repeated Defects...I had to just add it in there smile.gif

I can see both sides of leasing vs. buying. I haven't been able to lease before, maybe after the CRX is back on the road I'll consider it. I like the freedom of owning though, because you can do whatever you want to the vehicle and not have to worry about taking everything out when you turn it back in. Plus, you can put however many miles you want on it, which is the one of the main reasons for me. I have an '02 Toyota Tundra, bought it 12/2001 and I just rolled onto 80k miles, there is no lease program that'll allow that many miles a year.

hmm. leasing now makes sense to me, especially on something like that. a four door car i wouldn't want to do much with.. thanks, and now i might even consider leasing one day! hahahaa.

(it's nice to have a "normal" car for once..)

Well... technically... there's a lot of Mazda in that Ford. The 4 cyl engine is a version of the Mazda MZR. The V6 is a Ford Duratec. The manual transmission is Mazda, the auto is Ford. The chasis is from the Mazda 6. If you get a 4cyl one with manual, it should be alright.

I'm speaking as a former Ford Escort owner (another vehicle with lots of Mazda parts in it).

Test drove an '06 SE, which was close but not quite what I wanted. I loved the feeling in the car, the sound system was awesome, and it actually had some giddyup even with the slushbox. I'd have to place an order for one to get the manual trans, sunroof sound/wheels package and moonroof I want, but from what I've seen on the market it's just what I'm looking for.
