i have a chance to buy a 87 integra with 84,000 miles for 300-600 bucks, only thing is that it is an automatic!
are the engines the same and would every thing hook up the same?
would i have to find a new axle for the tranny side once i get a manual tranny?
any one done this before?

would the brakes and everyhting hook up also?
ive heard that its better to get one that came maual to begin with, something about autos not willing to rev fast??? any help would greatly be appreciated!!!

it would be better to get manual because you wouldnt have to get a tranny. My automatic car's engines never had a problem revving fast in neutral so dont listen to whoever said that.

If you can get it for close to the $300, that would be a fairly good buy. If you could find a manual w/ low miles like that for the same price, that would be a better buy.

fairly good buy????????? thats a freekin steal!! only 84,000 original miles! get it now... seeing as its so cheap you can go buy a 5speed tranny seperately.... then you can sell the body and auto tranny for parts after you do your swap and get some cash back from it..

you need engine, tranny, axles, knuckles/spindles/hub assemblys, full wiring harness, ecu, fuel lines, fuel pump, fuel sender unit, take teh rear disc brakes if it has them , you can use teh front seats too...

Im pretty sure there is a difference, seeing as teh ECU controls the shifting of the AT. I could be wrong though. If you need a Manual trans, PM me. Ive got an 89 trans that will bolt right up with 74K miles on it.

I also have an 89 ECU, but im not sure it is compatible with the 86-87 engines since they moved to electronic advance in 1988.

the auto ecu is different but you can still use it...

all it does is throw an error code for shift position or something like that...

i know for sure everything else will work fine
