I need to replace the bushings in my shifter pretty bad. When in gear, the shifter is able to move 4-5 inches in either direction and it's even hard to find the gears when shifting. I heard metal bushings are the best for solving this problem, but what have people done w/ theirs and where can I order the best from?

Edit:: Another quick question

For the front integra brake swap, is it just replacement of the rotor and brake pads with the integra ones? That simple?

i would get under the car and tighten the bolt directly under the shifter.. when i got my crx i noticed that i couldn't tell what gear i was in, tom told me to tighten that bolt and it made a huge difference.. try that

as for the integra swap you need new rotors and new calipers and new pads aswell as the plate that holds the caliper and shoes. i think

I was wondering about where to get some shifter bushings cheap. Also wondering if we could start a list of parts that get replaced often (and not so often) and where (as in a good weblink we can update) to get them from.

on the integra front brake swap you need the teg calipers, pads, and rotors but not the mounting plate, the caliper holes are in the exact same spot and bolt up fine (although clearances get tighter).

you might want to weld a washer or 2 on either side of where the bolt goes through the linkage, i found on a few different cars that after being sloppy for awhile the bolt widens the holes to the point where no new bushing will fix it, just tack a couple of washers on either side of the hole at both ends of the linkage. that and new bushings will fix it up like new. i havent done it to my car yet but the person that showed me had, and it works really slick and its easy to do. i'll be doing it as soon as i get the car in the air again.

Tightening up the shifter linkage with new bushings is a good idea. I also use a set of nylon washers in the bolt through the bottom of the shifter to make is move smoothly.

The Integra front brake update is a VERY good idea. You will need:
Integra Calipers
Integra Rotors (do not waste your money on cheap cross drilled rotors, they break)
Bracket that holds the Integra Calipers (the CRX bracket will not work with the larger rotors)

The single best upgrade to any set of brakes is to spend the bucks for QUALITY pads and shoes. Metal Master, Axxion, etc. do not count as quality parts. Porterfield pads and shoes cost a lot more, but work a lot better.

You will not need to change your Master Cylinder

I will not bore you with the many reasons why rear disk brakes are not the upgrade you may asume it to be.

The brackets being spoke of appear as part of the caliper. Just remove the calipers with the 2 17mm bolts and you have what you need. If you buy them new then you will need to go to the wrecking yard and get the bracket.

There are to places the shifter can get sloppy, the bottom of the shifter and the u joint at the trans. I had to fix the u joint, requires grinding the head off the pin and replacing with a bolt. I used shims around the original bushings, works great. Sawchuk figured out a way to put bearings in the original u joint, all bicycle parts since he works at a bike shop. Some here have used the steering u joint in its place.
