hi guys i am thinkin about gettin a honda and i want something different than everyone else has so i was thinkin about a 3rd gen civic and swappin in a jdm vti engine, what do you think about that?? im lookin to go cheap becuase i don't have much money and i am going to college in the fall, any ideas comments??....

Not cheap unless you have and can use a welder.

why would i need a welder what would i need to make, mounts?? anything else...the engine itself seems cheap.. what other routes could i take if i were to get a 3rd gen?

All of the mounts need to be custom made. Then there is the wiring, tranny, ECU, etc...

i c...what would i have to do to wire it up, i guess the motor is from a 92-95 jdm civic so that would have to be converted from obd1 to obd0 right?....also i found it on h motors online but they don't include a ecu, how would i go about doing that...

Oh, is the car fuel injected? If not, then I'd say forget about this swap, it really isn't going to be cheap or easy.

ic well i would try to find a fi one, what about also a d16a1? would that be easier?

Into a fuel injected Civic SI, the D16A1 is pretty much a bolt in.

wiring and everything would be simple, well not simple but not very hard? also what is the code for a zc? like b16a, h22, f20, etc...

ok, i feel dumb asking this but is the d16a1 dohc or sohc? and also what about the d16a8 would that be a better swap then the d16a1 the a8 has more hp i believe

thanks...i kno some things about hondas but not a lot so i figured this place could help me out....but back to the topic at hand would wiring be simple to put a d16a1 into a 3g hatch if it was fuel injected?

VTi here in sweden from -92 has a B16A2 engine. DOHC VTEC
