HEY GUYS IM BACK WITH MORE QUESTIONS LOL

Back when I have my 3G with a b20b swap I remember I used two passanger side 87 acura integra axels for both side since I was in high school broke so instead of paying 350 for hasport axles. now the reason im asking this is to reassure my self that I can do this again because honestly hasport entry axles suck and are not as good as OE quality and 300 for standard "Custom" axles is not flying with me especially when my 90 crx with 700hp was running Honda oem B series axles and never gave me any problems. the compressed length of a 87 passanger side is 23.1inches I remember using two passanger integra axles on my 3G civic with a b20 swap and they were awesome like factory fit. Does anyone know the compressed length of the hasport axles for 3G?

Didnt know there was a factory combo that could be used i have the hasports entry level axles that are chromoly.

They dont suck ive had them in 3 different 3rd/first gens.
They have always preformed well even turbo and there like 3 years old and the boots are still fresh.

Ok enough being mad i didnt use factory axles and paid out the ass for mine.

But both of mine are out of the car at the moment so as soon as it stops raining ill measure them for you.

Billy.

From my build thread on just this topic.  B18C block and cable S1 box.  I had custom axles made up and paid even more for it than for hasports, but the core was honda.  Note this is not compressed length, but installed length.

The cv's are finished and in. For information, the core length was 391mm overall, and 385mm between the s/face (don't ask me - that's whats on the invoice) and the centre of the diff/intermediate cv joint housing. The cv shop was insistent that the correct location for the spider in the joint housing is at the centre of the housing. The test for this was once you had installed the axle and tightened up the hub nut, if you released the hub nut you should have betwwen 5 and 10mm of play as the other end slid around that centreline. Which it did. If you don't have it centered then you run the risk of it popping out or pressuring your diff.

For what it is worth, if you used Integra lower control arms you would pick up a bit more wriggle room. Note my lengths are for CRX arms, not the integra.

Also, not all axles are the same length- in the specifications you can see there is some differences as they give you allowable limits.  So if you have the choice, go for the shortest ones.  Some people do manage to run oem axles without binding, maybe for this reason.

Finally, having seen the internals of an axle when watching them get checked, I formed the impression that you could shorten the axle where it goes into the carrier hub.  As I remember, there is a circlip which stops the tripot fitting coming off the axle.  If you cut  the shaft at that circlip groove and formed another groove for the circlip, you could pick up 5 mm shorter axle length.  Only worth it if you can do the rebuild of the axle yourself, as to have it done gets you towards the Hasport cost.

IIRC I believe you were referring to the driver's side axle and not the passenger's side for the 87 integra axles. The driver's side axle has longer splines so it can fit in both the half shalf and the trans. The passenger's side axle would not fit in the half shaft all the way.
