As a few of you know, i just came across a rat bagged civic sedan and i am curretly rebuilding this horrendus thing. Well today i started to build it, basically from the ground up. Well me and my furry headed friend started prety late tonight so we only got as far as you will see in the pictures.

Plans include: Stock crx 1.5 liter, devaced carb, new head gasket, and a fresh coat of paint for the entire car. Guess what colour? Flat black, big suprise. tongue.gif You arent going to believe it but my car is a 1986, with basically no rust, but with almost 400 000 km. Thats a suprise for a canadian car. Heres some pictures of the "progress" aside from all the peeling paint and redneck engineering.

The entire tool selection at Sears or the contents of a Snap-On truck will do you no good if you do not know how to use them.

oh i do. You should see the gunk on the fire wall. The pictures dont even give it any justice. Lets just say that its about...half an inch thick due to two leaky seals. Just to let you know...under the hood is supposed to be white!

how do you like the tuck tape btw. The bumper was being held on by carrage bolts, and the rad wasnt even in the mount. The oil filler gasket shot like a mother with oil when it started, and the exhaust was cut off at the Y. What else was wrong with it. Oh ya..the rad fell into a million pieces when i took it off. The brake booster has a blown gasket. The brakes were siezed. Hmm...what else. The moulding was being held together by screws. The window canks dont work on three doors.

Il post if i remember something else.

you read the list of problems right? lol. Good luck on that eh.

Just remembered that the horn doesnt work, the wiring for the indacators are cut off as are the turn signals.

The beautiful thing about the sedan and 3gs in general, is the wiring harness. You can pull the front and cabin wiring harnesses from a hatchie and they will work fine.

Update: Engine bay is clean as of Jan 8th, 11 pm. The crx went into the bay today and i started to rip out the engine. Got the rad out, removed all the lines. Basically all i have to do tomorow is remove the tires, shocks, brakes, hubs and il be good to go with that part of the project.

I also painted up my header panel tonight, but as of now it is drying. Il post pictures in the morning. laugh.gif

Another problem arose. i believe either my break booster is F'ed or the calipers were both siezed. I guess the brakes didnt work all around so i think its the booster. BTW, im looking for one biggrin.gif. Also, is there a gasket that runs between the resivour and the booster it self? Could that be my problem? Maybe i need new brake lines in the front. Il have a diagnosis by tommorow. (maybe) lol.

chedda, there's a 87 integra brake booster at the same pick-a-part as the tails. it should fit in the sedan.

plus you can grab the calipers and everything that's needed for a big brake swap, if that works on sedans.

Update. Heres a couple pictures of my header panel and fender.

Just a question, do you think i should fill in the holes where the moulding runs along the car, i was planning on removing the moulding itself cause it looks cheesy.

These holes

Lol k i wont. I was gonna. you didnt answer my "?" tho. should i go without it?

I think it will make it look alot cleaner. Notice the orange peel on the fender? Prety shitty eh.

Well in the next couple days i have to take my head to the machine shop to get the valve guide fixed. NO GOOD! I think im just going to get one swapped out from my other head. If i went to the dealer they would prolly want 20 bucks for one and it would prolly take a year to come in, so thats a "no-no" the way im doing it should be fine. do you have to have an adjustable timing gear on a SOHC engine if the head is shaved, oh lets say, .15? I wouldnt think you would have to. Thats not that much.

Things schedualed for tommorow include:
1.cleaning CRX engine (have to get all that gunk and head gasket off)
2.finding any parts i DO have for the sedan, ie corner lights.
3.finish off painting pass side fender.
4.Maybe if i get courageous, take my dizzy off and put lighter springs in. BTW. is there a right up on how to do this? I know how, but i would make one up if needed.

5. Post some new pictures

thanks guys for the help so far. Still got to get those tail lights and such, hopefully soon. I want to have this car done by Jan 20th.
