Had the same type of thing happen to the kakaburra. Son was driving it with a trailer attached, stops at a traffic light, and the following car slammed into the trailer and the trailer went under the car. Other guy was in a car he had just bought, and was not insured. Made the normal promises, then disappeared.
I was lucky. The trailer hitch was attached to the rear body rails, and the rotation of the trailer and hitch crushed the rails but absorbed a lot of damage.Didn't even damage the rear bumper. Did destroy the exhaust. Had the kink in the rear wheel fender, but forced most of it out with hydraulic jacks, etc. Used the opportunity to flare the fender a bit. Replaced the exhaust, and have rail sections to install if and when I decide its necessary.
Don't give up without trying a bit of pressure on the rear. On the heater, try unbolting it and refastening. Could be as simple as the fan being a bit jammed.

Well I stopped by a body shop the other day and got an estimate, he said it was "total loss", The guy has been unresponsive to me the past week so I may just have to take him to court.....
The heater I just replaced the motor and it works great now. I cant seem to get my pics off my phone.

The comment 'total loss' caused me to remember my train of logic in deciding to use jacks to push the rear back into shape. The suspension attachment points are all well inboard of the rear - the suspension arms arrach just behind the seats, the struts at the top of the wheel arch, and the panhard rod to a lateral support at the same line. That area is pretty solid with body rails etc, so you can have some distiortion further back but the rear suspesion alignment is still good. Depends on the panel damage really, but I was lucky and didn't have to replace any body bits.
