Any idea on where to get intake and exhaust valve spring retainers for the 85-87 Si and what the part numbers are?

Are there any cross reference retainers maybe from an Accord or something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Not new by any stretch. Sorry. More of a head to salvage parts from I'd say.

I'll look up the number of the Ti retainers I've been using and get that to you. I don't remember which engine it was right now but one of the B series engines (B17 or B18) has the same diameter stems as the EW and the stock EW springs will work in them. I've been running them in my engines for years.

It has even less content than the Elise, is less graceful looking

B18A1 and the later B20A-B20Z heads all use the same 6.5mm valves stem size that the EW engines do. I've never used the stock Honda retainers from any of those engines but Ferrea has Ti retainers that work.

Part # is E11023.

Thank you very much!  I am going to order them next week.  Another question for an EW engine, suggestions on any particular brand of valve spring compression tool that works when leaving the head on the block?  Any one work better than the others?

There is a great set on ebay that works for B and H series heads (dohc). It bolts up to the cap holes, and has a bell that presses down on the retainer so you can remove the keepers.  I made an equivalent kit using strip steel, bolts, and JBonded nuts for D series heads.

Look them up on ebay and see if you can come up with something from your home bench for the EW.May be a mission for sohc heads, but worth a try.  Doesn't have to be flash, and mine wasn't.

Titanium retainers not legal for FSP.
No other Honda factory valve spring retainers from any other model year and engine are legal (other than the original Si factory retainers- only) for use in any SCCA "Street Prepared" solo classes.
My suggestion would be to find a lightly-used (low mileage) set of used Si factory retainers and have them magmafluxed (for cracks or hairline splits) then have them cryogenically-treated for maximum endurance and reliability.
They are no longer available new from Honda.
This is your "only" option as regards these vintage Honda valve spring retainers.
Had to do the exact same thing myself.
