DOH!! whahaha never forget to weight it before stripping wink.gif

can i get anny info on the hatch i forgot to strip that one and i would like to put lexan into it.. so my question what does the window wieght ?

Greetings Erwin.

Stock dx hatch (no wiper, with plastic wing) weighs 40.5 lbs... then if you strip in down to bare nothin its 16.5 lbs... Then if you plasma cut out the extra metal and latch (like mine) it gos down to 15 lbs

wow awesome work. did you tig weld those bumper supports yourself? it looks like your gas flow cfm is a little low. also make sure to brush it with a stainless steel brush until you can see the pores in the metal, and try increaseing the pre and post purge to make sure that you dont get any contamination. other than that nice welds.

i think your going to have an awesome car when all is said and done.

Sean

ps. where the fuck did you get the kind of money for a tig welder, mig welder and a plasma cutter?

just weigh everything you pull off. that way you can add it to the new weight.

Good for you Aren D.
I managed to reduce the weight of my 85 CRX Si by 100 pounds. made a nice diffrence. looks like your gong to the next level. As for the rear bumpers I wouldn't worry to much about the safty aspect. Stock it's only a 5 mph bumper support. If you got rearened with any amount of speed (life threatening) the car is going to fold regarless. The stock bumper support isn't going to save your life, it might safe the frame in a low speed collision.
Cheers
