Any progress? btw, if you find anymore new old stock, or mint parts somewhere, I'm going to jump off a cliff.  ;)

Congratulations on your NOS parts. Very interesting to see the sourcing in Europe. Each country is different from the next when it comes to how Honda must operate legally within that country. Canada, for example can't post parts available at dealership on a national network like the US can due to privacy laws.

Glad you can save those parts from the dumpster and keep us posted on new finds! In the beginning, it was easy to buy inbulk at discount via the internet. Then I had to go to each dealership and buy piece parts with shipping costing more than the parts themselves. Now it either someone is too proud of what they got and charge 10 fold, or you get lucky and stumble on a closet find someone is trying to get rid of.

The mold markings on the back of your header panel are interesting. Your part was manufactured Nov 1989. I've been keepng track of larger parts DOM. I've been curious as to when Honda stopped producing body and trim parts.

you've put a lot of resource Ito your search and it shows!
Keepin' it OEM

Actually, I have to correct myself. that mold was built in 88' after the production was over. That's the first I've seen of that. they always begin 84 and continue on until production stopped or the tool wore out. New information to for me.
Keepin' it OEM

Thanks man, so much more has been done though.

Hahaha find a cliff (not really though) more NOS parts are collected, and loads of work has been done. Still far from finished though

Thanks sir, I have contacted a lot of dealers to find these parts. And there is more to be found I'm sure.

Never looked in to those markings/dates on the back to be honest. Noticed them but didn't think about it again.

Well, as I don't get much replies here, I just going to update it with a HUGE amount of pictures.

Searching for rust mostly :P
And I did find ''some''. Good thing about it is that it has not reached the firewall, just the floor. I knew there was going to be rust here so not to worried.

 9473597118_abcc50015f_b.jpg

I decided to get the engine out as well, I would like to have the front of the car sandblasted to have a good starting point.

 9473594908_ca9f1fd24b_b.jpg

Started to clean things up, take out the harness etc. The only rust here is surface rust from a rotten battery tray. And on the front where the bumper supports are, but nothing serious.

 9473591942_f7727e6454_b.jpg

Most of it what isn't black here is because there is no paint, bracket must have been on there before the final coat of black.

 9470805505_2a213447c5_b.jpg

Think I'm going to clean up the engine first now, because I don't like looking at a dirty engine :P

Just some pictures

When I took this picture I already worked on it for two evenings to get it off. 9954612856_2622ac32ce_b.jpg

Most of it looked like this before I started
9954619744_87caa5c464_b.jpg

First coat of paint of the engine
9954623654_c822cdb36c_b.jpg

Front of the engine almost completely done
9954763333_b28f0ec5f7_b.jpg

Stripped and painted the valve cover
9954661095_e5ae425c25_b.jpg

Sanded down the valve cover, need to go over it once more. 9954728866_8db4521217_b.jpg

And re doing the engine loom.

Some small progress has been made. Decided to drill/cut out the quarter panels.

First removed the fuel tank before cutting and grinding, and the filler neck was in the panel as well so needed to come off anyways.

 11275449276_2d25d1dd36_b.jpg

And the panel off. Both sides are done now. Just going to remove the sills as well because I want to see whats going on there, rust :P.

Decided to cut the new panel and test fit it. Need a partially new inner wheel arch so need to make sure it all fits in the end.

Missing some pictures here. But I had to redo the inner wheel arch as that was pretty messed up because of the rust. Removed the entire suspension.

Collecting parts and doing some smaller jobs on the side.
Dirt trailing arm, gonna clean that up.

Some of the parts so far.

ED9 brakes, should be a direct fit. Going a bit bigger and easier to find discs and pads for this setup.
11825061935_7763c393ae_b.jpg

Decided to take out a new tail light, just making sure I don't mess anything up with this panel.
11825329703_89611d27cb_b.jpg

New cylinders for the drums, old ones where rusted.
