Damn back tires look bigger than the fronts!!! blink.gif Must be the rims...

Mid 10's All Motor!!! Thats hella fast.... even the pro racers here in the states are only .5 faster than that.

I wonder that too... they seem to be the in swap for the EG/EK crowd as of late....

a grand cheaper then a b18c1... and 30 more hp and about 10-20 more tq.. Ill take that.
*looks* at my screen name...
if anything, ALL B motors are overrated(no i dont want to start a flame war)
B's have there place.....just not with me. =)

also when considering the power level compared to B series, u have to look at the entire curve. its not just +30hp at peak either. H motors are THE only Honda motor capable of shoe horning into a civic that comes STOCK with any amount of useable low end torque (ive driven them..)

Place Racing and HASport are selling mounts and wiring harnesses now too for htose swaps.. if I had a EG that would be the swap I wanted for all motor... I dont like the whole closed deck thing on the H22 though... I heard their harder to sleeve.

u dont really need to sleeve them. unless ur building an all out race motor.
on a street/strip car, H's cant be beat. just gotta pay to play.(and were still cheaper than a shitty b18c)yea i said shitty and no i dont wanna flame war. =l

H23 in a 1rst gen CRX???? i thought about it...the prospectof dropping the entire motor to change clutches tho sorta turned me off. If only place racing would come up with a 1rst gen conversion cradle =)

budget+smarts+ingenuity=D series(or EW's as i have learned but i think they are in the same catagory)

heres an equation i came up with a long time ago
$$$+hype+listen to the magazines=B18c1 swap
$$$+hype+listen to your friends=b16 swap
$$$+brains+a little bit of hype+a little bit of smarts=b18a/b build up
Budget+brains+no hype= D series and SOHC builders(and EW's as i have learned here)
$$$+brains+smarts+dominance+reliabilty=H motor swap

note: i hearby give my AIM name (norcalwm925) if u like to flame war me, dont do it on the forum please. im just stating my own theories. *looks at anyone getting mad who has a B18/b16*
HAVE A NICE DAY!!!!

wouldn't the weight make the car just as fast as a b series engine?

4drhseriesEGII,
I like your math.

I'm a big block man myself. as he drives off in his 1.5 powered CRX

There's no replacement for displacement!

Hey I got a little bit of smarts!!! Whoo Hoo!!

Recently found a vid on hondatech of a sohc d-series running 11.9!?!? It was pretty sweet I must say. Although I am a fan myself of the b-series (not all of them though). I do however have a unfound respect for d powered cars. It shows how much can be accomplished with creativity and know how. I bow down to all d-series builders!!! happy.gif

why is it that when ever someone says "d-series" they are talking about SOHC. there is a DOHC d-series engine. now if that was built up couldn't u get alot out of that.

Because they are hard to find? Your talking about JDM ZC's and Acura D16A1's, right?

Parts availability is also a factor.

Dohc d-series are not nearly as common as sohc d-series motors. I dont know how fast a car with a zc or d16a has gone but I know sohc d-series have gone 11's and possibly 10's. So I think the sohc have more capabilities than the dohc d-series.

Like I said, H motors are overrated. Look at all the top Hseries all motor racecars.....there way behind all the big dogs like Aguilar and Durst. And they are both running less displacment than any of the H series motors are stock. Ive built and driven many H22 cars and even if they have good power the gear ratios and low reving just make them really fall on there face between shifts. I have to admit I do like the adapter plates there making to get rid of those awfull shitbox/Gearbox they come with. But if were still uncertain you can bring your H22 powered beast down to Vegas and run my Bseries CRX. Then we will truly know which setup is better.
