went looking for some turn signals on ebay. i was rather upset i missed out on the EDM ones that went for 81. honestly would have paid it but i forgot about the auction. but i found a set listed as "EXCELLENT" condition with NO CRACKS. the pics were small, but looked pretty good. i should have known better. it said 60 OBO and i stupidly offered 60 shipped, should have gone lower...

but i get the signals, which came in a narrow box, the signals were 69'd with NO PADDING WHATSOEVER. no foam, no bubblewrap, not even some goddam newspaper!

of course, one of the lenses IS cracked. its right along the leading edge where the picture would have not shown them anyway! here's a link to it.

http://cgi.ebay.com/...RTQ:MOTORS:1123

i messaged the guy and told them i received them but that they were in no way in "excellent" condtion. they were "fair" to "OK" conditon at best, and DID have a crack in the lens, unlike what was listed. even tho they were poorly packed, it didnt look like shipping damage. it looks like an old crack. it looks kinda like mine that i already have that have been cracked for a long time. he replied:

"YOU SAW THE TURN SIGNALS IN THE PICS WHICH WERE CLOSE UPS AND THERE WERE NO CRACKS IN THE TURN SIGNALS AT ALL"

first off i have no respect for someone who types in all caps and uses no punctuation. makes me feel as tho i am talking to a 13 year old who doesnt know what the caps lock key does besides MAKE IT LOOK LIKE IM YELLING.
second, you guys tell me, are those pics to be considered "close ups"? i am thinking no....

i still need to take some REAL "close ups" so i can put them online and send him a link, and let him know that my next email will be to ebay and paypal. does anyone have some pics of some CRX turn signals in ACTUAL "EXCELLENT" condition? i would like some comparison shots to send to paypal.

also does anyone have some turn signals they want to sell me that aren't shit? smile.gif im seriously to the point that i am ready to bend some plexi make my f'ing own

oh and if dsawulski is here and is a member, then i guess im gonna have to call you out. you're either blind, or a liar, or just a really poor ebay seller who doesnt know how to pack fragile things. i have 100% ebay feedback, and its for a reason. its called integrity. get some.

Is there not a different corner lenses for the 84-85 than the 86-87 for the CRX? I know for the hatch back recessed lights and flush lights have different corners. If the CRX has different lenses too my first "avoid this seller" flag would have been listing all four year for the 1G CRX.

Also, he pictured and send the wrong lights: "HONDA CRX REAR TAIL LIGHTS FOR ANY CRX MADE IN THE YEARS 1984,1985,1986,1987"

I'll have to take a look at the one's on my CRX, from memory they are in what I could consider good/restorable condition. (IE: no cracks, no missing tabs, and only minor scratches) But I'll take a closer look today, if they are in good shape I'll pull them off and take some REAL closeups.

Note: Technically the shots he showed were "closeups" but the image size defeats the purpose.

Note2: Yes, there are 2 different versions of corner lights for 1Gs, I'll take a picture of them side by side. The newer ones are bubblier.

time for some pics. i even shrunk them down so they were easy to send and you can still see they aren't as described. i believe he just took them this way to be misleading.

heres how i received the items

thats right, not a single thing to keep these "excellent" condition corners safe except some cardboard and the gentle touch of the US postal service. (no offence to anyone who works there)

here's the driver side. not bad, but its dirty and could use buffing before one could really call this "excellent" in my opinion.

something is wrong though. these were listed as having no cracks. this appears to be something. lets look closer

i say, that sure does kinda look like a crack doesnt it. lets see if we cant get a little focus on this

yes, this is what people generally call a "crack"

well, i dont really see how one could call this anything other than a crack. perhaps he meant to say "this item does not contain any crack, because im smoking it all"

some of you may see this any think i am picky, but i wouldnt give more than 30 dollars for these. they are not "excellent" i have seen many "excellent" condition corner lights from the 88-91 years. i have a set for sale even. these do NOT fit in the same category, and are cracked. they are not worth 55 dollars in my opinion. whats yours?

If you are a disatisfied customer then file with eBay & PayPal if the seller wont make it right. That's why they have those options. Don't stand for BS and excuses.

I put the FUN in dysfunctional!
Just tell her you are fixing it for someone and it is not yours and when they never show up to pick it up tell her you are keeping it for all of the work you put into it.

yah thats what i figure i am going to have to do. i gave him options and am saving all the emails to turn over to paypal after he replies. i have a feeling he will tell me to go to hell or something which will just put things further in my favor. told him i wanted my money back and the 4.90 it will cost me to ship it back. told him i would also package it properly to avoid further damage biggrin.gif

he said in the listing that shipping would be 5 for one and 10 for two. you can see on the box that he spent 4.90 shipping these. so whats the other 5 dollars for? i guess its some expensive cardboard or something because its sure not for any other packing material.... because there isnt any.

but seriously, if you had these and were going to describe them accurately, would "excellent" be the word you used? what would you say? (other than one has a f*ing crack)

That sucks man, I had a similar experience on eBay but not nearly as expensive. It was described as excellent and in brand new condition and when I got it was total caca. I was ticked.

hope you get your monies back!

No, I would be mad too. I've been burned due to bad photos and/or descriptions also. Unfortunately it's part of the selling/buying game. My excellent might only be good to you. But with that said if the pictures are crap then one does has to accept some of the risk also.

and we have the jackass's response

THE TRUTH IS YOUR A COMPLAINER WHO WAS TRYING TO BUY BRAND NEW SIGNALS. ALL THEY NEED IS TO BE CLEANED. THEY DID NOT NEED PACKING AT ALL SINCE THEY WERE SENT NOT ON TOP OF EACHE OTHER . THE OLY WAY THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN DAMAGED WAS IF THEY WEE CRUSHED. YOU HAVE WERE SENT UP CLOSE PICTURES VERY CLOSE PICS. FSRECTOR IS A BUYER THAT NEEDS THE EXACT SAME TURN SIGNALS. SEND HIM AN EMAIL IF U WISH. I WILL NOT TAKE THEM BACK CUZ I REPRESENTED THEM ACURATELY WITH VERY CLOSE PICS. YOUR REALLY LOOKING FOR BRAND NEW IS THE REAL TRUTH ,WITH NOT EAVEN SMALL SCRATEHES. YOU MISREPRESENTED YOURSELF IN BUYING SOMETHING 20 YEARS OLD AND EXPECTING BRAND NEW. I NEVER ADVERTISED BRAND NEW

oh, so 20 year old plastic turn signals dont need packing properly because they dont rub against each other in a box they barely fit in? yes its VERY possible that the box was crushed, and the box DOES have a dent in it. i still am of the opinion that the crack is old and the pics were taken in that way to hide that it was there. he keeps saying his pics were "very close pics" but i hope im not FUKING STUPID to think that those were NOT very close pics.

any dumbass who cant find the caps lock key and uses the word CUZ in anything but an Instant Message is fucking retarded.

I think it would be safe to say that either the crack was already there or it was caused by shipping, both of which being his fault. I send a lot of packages around the world and i can say first hand that sort of packaging is not sufficient for any plastics, i wouldn't send lights like that even within the country because i know what postal services can be like.

Bar the crack i would have said they are in good condition, in need of polishing maybe even wet sanding and polishing to get rid of some of the deeper scratches.

I may have a pair of JDM CRX corners in tidy condition think one of them may have a snapped mount tab off the back.

Those look to be 86-87 style for the flush headlights. The 86-87 ones have like vertical line patterns in the clear area and a slightly different angle on the edge, and the 84-85 ones have a checkered patern in the clear areas. The taillight are darker on the 86-87 cars, and have different plugs on the wire harness but easily swappable. I'd file a complaint with ebay/paypal and see what happens. If you can't get your $ back or sell them maybe fill the crack with some glue, like model glue maybe, sand and buff down, then spray some clear amber over the whole corner hiding the crack. Either way, good luck.
