somewhere around 1800lbs, give or take a hundred pounds or two (road grime and goldfish crackers under the seat).

B-series engines are fucking heavy. Some people say the B16 is LIGHTER then a EW/D15A2..It's a load of crap.
Curb weights are as follows.
DX - 1819lbs
HF - 1713lbs
85 Si - 1890lbs
86/87 Si - 1953lbs
1.6i-16 - 1984lbs.

Those're CRX weights..As far as I know, the hatchie is quite a bit lighter?
All I know is it only took two of us, bare handed, to lift a EW5 with no trouble into the back of a raised F150..

yea same thing me and my cousin were able to lift a d15 about 3 feet off the ground to put in my parents van. and the other day me my friend and his bother(it took all 3 of us, and they are a lot tougher then my cousin) to lift my friends b16. so i would have to say that b series are heaver but what the hell you almost got like double the power, so why not.

hatch lighter? how do you figure? you think that back seat, the metal fenders and metal header panel reduce weight?

Everything I've ever heard/read shows the Hatch to be lighter.
Hell if I know how. I've scratched my head over that more then once.

My 87 Crx Si with the B16 weighed 1950lbs with very little fuel.
I weighed my HF with the same swap and it came in at 1810lbs with 2/3 tank of gas and wasn't gutted like the Si was. I have a full interior.

hmmm... did a quick google and it showed that the 87 civic Si had a curb weight of 1797 as opposed to the 1987 CRX Si's 1953... needless to say... (and it kills me to)... you could be right. *runs and hides*

Does anyone have the REAL stock weight cause every book and person has a diff weight.
For the '87 Crx dx I've seen 1865 lbs on the web and in a Import car history book so I been base'ing my weight reduction off those numbers.

The cars were bound to get slightly heavier as the model-years progressed. The 86 and 87 DXs had a lot of crap the 84 and 85 didin't..Extra bracing here, little interior details there, extra tail light on the hatch, etc. All of that could easily add up to an extra 20 or 30 pounds.
