I have a 86 crx with a b16 and t3 turbo set up pushing 9 lbs. i went to the track with it yesterday for the 1st time after it was boosted for some test and tune. i quickly realized it was completly different to race. i ran about 8 times over the 4 hours i was there trying differnt teqniques to launch. the whole night depended on one thing traction. I am on street tires, and i know they are not the greatest for the track, but i know nothing of the differnt sizes of slicks or which are better. if i could be put on the right course or slicks explained for my application that would be great. my best time was a 14.3 (at 3600ft)spinning through 1st and sencond. i was trying to feather the pedal the best i could. i need more practice biggrin.gif here are a few pics of the set up

try letting some air out of your tires to improve the contact patch....

I could have a 12 second car but without traction I wouldnt even run 13's... get some slicks, elevation really has no effect on turbo cars, Get a set of 22.5" slicks or even 24" If you can fit them you will see a dramatic effect on ET's.;..

right now im trying to see which would be better drag radials or slicks. the track will be the main use, i was looking at the nitto drag radials and the BFG drag radials.

slicks will always be better than a drag radial

well the hasport axles are pretty tough, thats what im running. they are like a torsion type where they flex and twist and shit instead of breaking.

i have always had a theory though, i would rather lose traction than blow the trans to pieces...... tires are cheaper and easier to replace

i have drag radials for sale!

205 60 14, air them down and you get 2x the contact patch of regular tires, if not more and they're sticky.
I have nothing...

well ive been doing some research for most of the weekend and i think im going to go with the M/T slicks size 20.0/8.0-14 from what i understand they will help the gearing in my tranny compared to the 24.5/8.0-14 and with the smaller tires i guess i dont need to run a tube... im going to call mickey thompson to be sure of everything before i order
