Has anyone here tried to use the FRONT shock/strut from a 2003-2011 Crown Vic/Marquis/Town Car on the REAR of a 1G CRX/3G Civic?

They look like they'd fit.  I'd like to try them because I can get them pretty cheap and I need a little less compliance out back.

Odd request, I know.  But anyone?

One more thing.  Does anyone make a longer ride height adjustment bolt for the torsion bars up front?  I just want a bolt that is no more than 1/4" longer.

Thanks,

Tom

Why not pull the torsion bars out and re-index them?  Then you will gain back the adjustment with the stock bolt length.

I put rear shocks out of a civic wagon in my '85 civic. Had to fabricate spring plates, but gained a lot of ride height, which is good for the conditions I drive in.

I may end up going the re-indexing route.  However, if there is a possibility of simply changing out the adjustment bolt it would be a far easier method to do the very same thing.

I think you need to drop the sub frame to replace the adjusting bolt.

From what I've seen, the 1G teg had longer bolts. At least, I have a set of tubes with what look like oem longer bolts.
