Which one do you use? As much as i know, Wal-Mart always puts Fram in mine, and alwasy complain about it being a weird size. What exact size is a D15A2 ? I found this site Filter Reveiw and would like to get a Mobil 1 filter, does anyone know which i should get? And also on the site it talks about Oversized Filters, should i do this? I have always heard bad things about Fram, and would like to explore my options, Thanks guys

I use Fram, I don't know about that weird size complaint.....prolly just laziness. I don't know dimensions, but I think the Fram part # is 3235?
I've always used Fram, and I haven't had any problems.

I know K&N makes Oil Filters too, don't know if they're reusable like the air filters though.......
You could always try the Mobil 1 filter, and make a decision which one you would prefer....anywho....

Get the Walmart Super Tech filters. Made by Champion Labs (STP and other filters) and cheaper than Fram.

After the bad experiances I had with Fram and other brands of filters I have used nothing but OEM filter in my cars regardless of make and model. The OEM units are with in a buck or two of the generic Fram or other brand filters. Since all my SOHC Honda motors use the same filter I just buy in bulk through the best price I can find on line.

I suggest Honda brand oil filters, made specifically for Honda.

OEM is the only safe way! fram and the other over the counter filters do not contain a check valve that keep them full and will let the oil drain out when the motor is not running so the filter has to refil at start up and the engine starves for oil in the top end until the filter fills.

I have always used OEM filter and MOBIL 1, 200,000 + miles and Nitrous used daily and my DX still kickin' it hard!

it is not that hard plus you get to look under your car and see if any other issues exist that the wal-mart guy could give a shit about.

yeah definately, next oil change i will attempt to do myself. Only thing is, i have been told its hard to get at the oil filter (pictures?)- is this true and what all tools will i need to do it? Thanks for the responses

It's sooooo easy to do an oil change. You will need a special oilfilter removal tool
that can be picked up from your local parts store (or Walmart) for a couple of bucks.
You'll need a new oil filter (from Honda) and new oil and an oil drip pan.

Here is the LINKY to the manual in the gallery for changing the oil filter. Draining is
pretty straight forward (Put a oil drip pan under the bleed bolt, unscrew the oil
cap on the valve cover, and remove the bleed bolt to drain the oil) Let it drain for
a while, until it totally stops dripping. It's a good idea to have a shop towel (crap
towel) around cuz you'll definitely get oil on your hands the first time. Once you
loosen the bleed bolt oil pours out like a MOFO.

Once you replace the oil, make sure you dispose of the old oil properly by pouring
it back into the new oil container and dropping it off at Walmart.

Warm the engine up for a few minutes to get the oil nice and runny. Of course, then when you undo the drain bolt you will get hot oil all over your hand (been there, done that), so it's a trade off. All you need is a jack, jack stands, 17mm socket, pan, and filter wrench. I use a large slip wrench to get the filter off, but methods vary. It's not all that hard. Plus it's real fun when you drop the drain bolt into the oil catch pan. Been there, done that. Also, when you take the filter off, make sure the gasket doesn't stick to the block, or the new filter won't seal correctly, and you will lose all your nice clean oil. Been there, done that.

and if you ever find splotches of Mobil 1 on the windshield, bottom of the hood, valve cover, radiator, exhaust manifold heat shield, intake manifold, etc... after starting it to check for leaks... that would probably be the time to put the oil cap back on the valve cover of the SR20DE.

lol ok thanks for all that - i am gonna get one of those new fangled things that screw in like the bleeder bolt and then every other time you change the oil you just attacth a hose and it comes out. its gonna be a couple thousand more miles till i need to do it but i will tell yall when i do Thanks
