#447341 Upper Mount

Posted by ydennek on 06 June 2009 - 02:44 PM in 1G CRX

This water pump is kicking my ass and I have not even touched it yet. According to "Haynes" I need to remove the upper motor mount. I have through-bolt removed and one retaining bolt, the other bolt is spinning. I can not get a wrench behind it to stop the bolt. Any ideas?

There was a Straman convertible on a show back in the 90's called key west, the show only lasted a short time and I have never been able to get a copy. Until now, I just found it on you tube it's at minute 4:27. I saw this when the show originally aired back in the early 90's but did not know about the Straman's, I wanted one from that time on and only found out about the Straman's when I joined RPR. Now I have 2, Thanks RPR.

It makes me wonder if this is the one Seekerone now owns.

How did you put the freeze plug in? i didn't see any threads or does it just push in?

Just purchased some 3/8" brass plugs from Loews. They seam to fit well.

I took out these parts and placed then with the plugs, all 5 the same size.

more the likely your evaperator is clogged. all my EF's have had crappy air flow till i pulled the evap and let it soak in degreaser and gently sprayed it off. the difference was night and day

Dumb question, if my pull my evaporator, the freon will leave my system? If so do i go somewhere and have them remove the freon?

Thats the evaporator right?

Turn it past 1?

Thats why there is 2, 3, and 4 speeds.

That is a great idea! But i feel as if i only have 3 speeds then. I want it to go to, maybe, 10 or more air at 1.

QUOTE (kaymo @ May 23 2009, 02:40 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
if you've never taken it apart, theres a good chance that all the foam crap that honda used between the heat/air ducts and the dash is old and dead and gone. this will not push air thru the vents forcefully enough and make it feel like an asthmatic 80 year old blowing at you thru a coffee stirrer...

i replaced all mine with real foam. should work much better.

I think I might have to do this! What kind of foam did you use or where did you buy it.

QUOTE (crxls @ May 23 2009, 05:48 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
i suggest driving a little faster with the windows down but if thats not an option, you can try one of these great idea's

I always wanted an excuse to drive a little faster.

You guy have been a great help, thanks for the laughs too.

#443541 I Think My Crx Wants A Pool

Posted by ydennek on 22 May 2009 - 08:39 PM in General Posts

Attempt #1: 4 layers of "Creatology Fun Foam" 12" x 18" sheets (1/16" thick X 4 layers = 1/4" thick). No glue of any kind.

We will see if this leaks. I did a test spray (a lot of water) and no leaks yet. I will have to wait for another rainy day to see if it really works, of course this probably wont happen for a few months now since i want it to rain. Total price so far: 4 sheets of foam = $4. The template works great, it not %100 perfect, but yet its not from Honda either.
