Drove it around last night and a little bit today but there are some problems but I did fix the hg no more crazy clouds of white smoke!!!

but now for the problems

When I first start the car for about the first five minutes I can let the clutch all the way out with me giving it no gas and the car will go about 15mph its like its idleing too high but I have no way of knowing what the idle is /=

This is my first time working on a car with a carb so sorry for the lack of terminology but you know when the car starts the motor is louder but after awhile it heats up and goes away and returns to a normal idle and uses alot less fuel.....well mine is not doing that, it might be because I didn't hook up  the exhaust shield or the hose that runs to the intake

it seems like its missfireing alot less sense I advanced the timing but its getting like 10 mpg please help 

as for it being loud it was the egr valve, but  when the dizzy was turned all the way to retard whenever I gave it gas it would just die now I advanced the timing and it runs I did the  devac like I said before so Im pretty sure the caps on the correct spots but it stil sounds as if its misfiring a little bit

any sugestons on how to find a miss fire

Well it runs but it dies when I try to give it gas, almost as if the accelerator cable isnt hooked up, any ideas?  also it will run at idle for at least 5 min(longest ive ran it) it just sounds loud and its sounds like its miss firing

Just got a egr block off plate made today by my buddy

gotta get shorter bolts for it tho

well the glue held and no it broke off where the bolt goes in

but I got it to run but god damn its loud!!!

Im having make me some block off plates today but it seems like its misfiring idk I gotta wait till after friday so ill have time to work on it
