We did not get enough people out for the Secret Street 1/4 mile drags but it was fun even in the coolish weather. The people that turned up were T-RX, Crxboi, Crazi-85crx, Wessider, myself and a few crew goupies. The organizer of the event CheddaJ was no where to be seen!

For me it was the first time ever on a drag strip other than a spectator. Although I did not do very well in the ET I did go from a 1.137 reaction time down to a .31. Best ET was 17.085 as I really didn't know what the hell I was doing. Too much spinning of tires I believe and I also missed a shift. I also heard a loud bang under the car which gives you the willies as I thought I may have snapped a drive shaft. In the end I think it was the exhaust and shift linkage playing tag.

I did manage to beat T-RX and his turbo D15 out of the box but the boost took over further down the track. So, since I have a low compression engine the solution to this problem is "put on the damn Turbo"!

I didn't take any pictures in the tech line or of the two of us that ran and then it got dark. Therefore all I have to offer is the morning after pic's. JS

I did manage to help crxboi fix his MC problem in the afternnon before the event. New MC from NAPA and suck all the old brake fluid out of the booster. There may a bit left in there but it should work fine. At least now he can stop so that when he races he can at least get it parked again. JS

If you want one of these Logos send me a PM

I would like to thank Jerry alot for helping me with my MC altho i still own him $10.00 for the brake fluid.. It was still fun but i wish more people showed up.. Also I wish i didnt have to work in the morning so i could get my rex into those pictures.. It was a great time and the next meet will be hosted in Edmonton so we can get some quicker time.... I couldnt get any times cause i spent well over $400.00 dollars on my car so that sucked my whole pay check dry and some!! It was nice to meet you all and also it was nice to see that there isnt only young drivers into crx's but older crx lovers as well.. Thanks again for all your help and tks for answering the questions that i needed answerd... biggrin.gif

Back from the Meet,

It was a shame i had to work late on friday and missed the fun at the track. I don't know if the car was ready (tuning wise) for the strip but it would have been fun. It's also a shame that not very many people where able to stick around for saturday. It was basicly a trip to Calgary for nothing for my co-driver and I as we arrived at our hotel at 12am, slept, ate breaky, met the Lethbride crew in the hotel parking lot, chatted for about two hours and then drove back to Edmonton at 12pm.That aside I was great to meet (i beleive it was) crazi-85crx and chat with him and his friend about thier projects.

Maybe Jerry will be willing to help me organize the next meet here in Edmonton. I'd like to find a parking lot (with the consent of the company) to set up some pilons. I don't know what the legality would be but i'll look into it. This way turnout won't matter as much or at least make/break plans. If only two or three cars show we can still have some safe fun.

All in all it was a push that truly forced us to get the car done and it felt good to be behind the seat again. I look forward to meeting those who I didn't get the chance to meet Friday.

biggrin.gif A funny side note: we tuned like mad on the way home and it's now perfect up to 5500 rpm for air fuel. We got into edmonton and an older guy in a 2004 mustang pulled up beside us at the lights we drove off on the green and heard him hammer it. Chris was driving and he decided to lay into it. We have to shift by 5500 or it gets to rich and misses (until we finish data logging and fine tunning). As Chris dropped a gear he was rite beside us. Turbo spooled and boost kicked hard... by the time we were going to forth he gave up!!! at the next light dispite his embarassment he did give us the thumbs up. That'll teach, the old school fool!

sorry i didnt show up. I really wish i could have but i blew up my flywheel on my car (flexplate). So the car was inoperable. Now im onto doing the swap to manual. If you guys are all around next year, il be there for another meet. People who still want the parts, il be in calgary june 20th for the warped tour and would have no problem dropping off some stuff. I might be there even earlier. Im so sad that i missed this meet. What can you do. I prollly wont be on here very much at all from now on, since i made the pat of not coming on anymore after the meet. Maybe just to check out the crew. thanks anyways. Btw....getting an si 86 here prety soon. biggrin.gif

Sorry, no.

Valley Tuners of Sparwoood B.C

We are trying to hold a meet open to all classes at the Sparwood Airport. This will include small cone course and show and shine. With top prizes for best time and sexiest car of the day. Drinks after at mickys pug with live band Lt.Dan. We need signatures before we can get the track opened up for us. We only have a limited amount of members so if we could get some support from the alberta crew it would be great.
