Alright so I have a pan gasket that needs replacing. I went to check under the car for the jack points and the front one's are completely gone, rusted out. I tried putting in on the frame of the car but I had a really bad feeling, as I was lowering the car down onto the jacks the car was sliding backwards but that might be because my rear shoe pads are shit. Anyways any idea on where and how I can raise my car safely?

Or is there any other place I can place the jackstand? Pictures would be nice

Some proper ramps are good, beware of the homemade ramp , because the front wheels pull. I always glue it to the pan only, then allow it to dry. This keeps it from squishing out the side when you torque it, Dave

Sorry glue what to the pan? And would you recommend placing jacks on the frame and then another pair on the rear jackpoints? I was thinking maybe if I leveled the whole car it would work but I was still sketched out.

It sounds like he suggested driving the car up on ramps and then working on the car. Much safer if your support points are rusty,

In addition to jack stands, I'll try to use the floor jack on the lift flatform as a backup.

If your jack points are rusted, your biggest problem is not the oil pan.

Oh I know, I've checked the flooring of the interior and no signs of rust yet... but the undercarriage seems to be full of rust on the front end of the car. The rear looks perfect the the front under signed looks like it took a bath in water. But the frame seems to be good. I jacked the car up from there to see if any imprints were left it or if it would sink in and it didn't so not too worried about the rust atm.

And I'll buy a little ramp so I can work on it /: just one problem after another on this car so far.

Glue the oil pan gasket to the  pan with gasket sealer, Dave

Put your jack stands on the rear subframe bolts. That works well. Make sure to use the EBrake, put wheel chaulks behind the rear wheels.

Make sure to use a torque wrench, they only need 7lbs, which isnt much at all. Scuff both sides lightly with sandpaper. Spray with brake clean, wipe down till there is NO oil on the mounting surfaces. Use grey gasket maker, very very little, if you feel the need. I feel it works best without any sealer.
