you can always remove your faces, scan them, go to photoshop and reverse the contrast, add color or whatever, and print them on photo paper...imagine the possibilities.

This is likely an alternative but how long will they last. Heat, sunlight and moisture will certainly have an impact on the look unless you can coat the photo paper that they are impervious to the elements.

I'm sure there are copy places of sorts that could print onto a plastic sheet of the correct dimensions. Have not looked into any of that. At about a$50.00 cost it isn't overly unreasonable for what you get. I will post up something after I get back from my trip. JS

Here is the link to the Red Face Gauge face retrofit. I finally got around to doing the install and a write up.

The unfortunate part about these face plates is that all the drillings were not done by the manufacturer and I had to drill or file out a bunch to make them work, In the end they look OK.

I am presently looking into having something similar designed for the USDM/CDM version. I will also qualify this by saying they will be in METRIC for the Canadian market or anyone else that wants them. Do the Aussies and Kiwis use MPH or KPH? JS

Good to know information. KPH on the outer/large numbers and MPH on the inner/smaller numbers.

Interesting you mention the bulb/condom swap. Let me know if you can source different colour condoms and what size they are.

I had to try and do that in my MX3. Two of the bulbs in the four push buttons under the cluster were not working. We took the dash apart to get the cluster out with the two switch units. Each unit had two little bulbs and I mean small. I went to the dealer to get replacements as the only ones I could source from the JY were also no good and they do not stock them at all mad.gif . One has to buy the complete switch unit for $150+.

So after hunting through all the parts and electrical stores in town I went to my friendly Honda parts guy. Well, they had a similar bulb with the same size insert but the actual bulb was twice as thick and long. Needless to say the little green condom couldn't stretch enough to fit over the new unit. Where is the Trojan brand when you need it! laugh.gif

For the red emergency flasher I managed to use a dark red nail polish I found in the kids drawer. The green I left the half size condom on and spray painted over it and the bulb with a blue green colour I had about. It worked well for a few days. The red still works but the green has gone back to white as I suspect the little condom tore and fell off. I guess it's off to find a green tint nail polish. I have also heard that the Testors brand of model paint works well. JS

Actually, stained glass paint works great. You can buy it @ craft stores cheaply. It's meant to transmit light! Nail polish is designed for opacity & to reflect light! For darker colors use multiple coats...

I used it for my clear corners, to make the clear bulb amber. I'll never buy a colored bulb again!
