So this is the deal. Back in the day it was jumping from 1k - 2k rpm's and turned out it was the idel air control which i replaced. After driving it for a little i had to throw it in storage for certain reasons.

The car was sitting for close to a year. While it was sitting i threw in a new throttle body that was givin to me by someone on the fourms for free cause i had a TPS go bad on it. It was kicking a PGM-FI light. After pulling it out of storage the light went out cause i threw in the new TB but its ideling funky again.

This time instead of just the 1k-2k rpm jump, when the cooling fan comes on it'll idel normally. When i turn on the AC it'll idel at 4k rpms. yeah. Not the idel air control either cause i threw in a new one to check. I checked as many vaccuum lines as i could and they SEEM to all be ok. Not the TB gasket cause i tried putting a silicone sealant on it thinking it was a bad gasket. Not that either.

Could it just possibly be a bad TB that was givin to me or what. WHAT ELSE COULD IT BEEEE!? i have to get it re-inspected and this isnt going to pass. Could it be something else went wrong cause it was sitting for so long?

plllease help.

There is a screw near the tb that needs to be adjusted. Mine used to do the same untill I turned that little screw and that fixed the problem. Just kont know the right name to that screw blink.gif .

My Si does the same thing after I changed the TB. A freind of mine tapped on the Air By-pass valve or Idle control valve (what ever the damn things called) and idle jumped back to normal... I took the two screws off the top and pulled the cover off and it was caked w/ carbon buildup... Try spraying some carb/TB cleaner in it.
If that dosnt do anything, you may want to try messing around w/ some other sensors or possibly your ECU (I have a spare parts if needed)
