We'll, I just ranted on C8V6C's thread. I think its RIDICULOUS that dude is not yet in a mag. I am SOOOO tired of the same old boring content in magazines right now. They all needs something FRESH, they need RED PEPPER RACING baby!! They need a full pledged, multi-car, feature of what this elite group has to offer. So, I suggest that we vote collectively for the top twelve cars to represent us. We could then send Honda Tuning a submission of our selections, and a petition for a feature of some of Honda's masterpieces of the mid-to-late 80's. At the very least, the compiled votes could be made into a "RPR: Completed Projects" calender.

I'll start. In no particular order:

1. Kakabox; function and form done right, no compromises
2. Seargent Pepper; a perfect restoration of a classic that even Honda might be proud of.
3. C8V6C; gold MR5's, baby's-butt bay, how can you lose
4.1stYearSi; (He hasn't posted current pics, but truly a masterpiece!)
5. 1genCRX; I'm building his car, step-by-step. Sshhhh, don't tell him!
6. EA_Hatch; pre-accident, hommage to a legend.
7. Lil'Buddy; I don't have to see his finished product to put him on the list, just hurry up and finish!
8. hatchbox; sleeper-city, and incredible attention to detail
9. ballade; see "tucking 13's" post, wowza
10. funkmaster; nuts CRX
11. the other Mugen kitted Rex; white; someone help me out here....
12. The OG Wagon ph34r.gif

There are many more that I could add, as well as many I probably have never seen before, being that I'm a newer member. I know that there are also a TON of promising builds that aren't quite finished yet as well. These are just the top hits that come to my mind right now...

Let's all contribute and help out here!

Why are we objectifying these cars? Can we not love them, each and every one?

There are so many beautiful cars on this web site with hours of work, tons of money and imagination invested. But it is also the "barn finds," the craigslist specials, the rescues from the junkyard that make this community special. Cracked fenders, greasey engines and torn upholestry are beautiful also. Today's hooptie can always become a shining example later on.

Let's appreciate each and every car, let's not create seperate classes of vehicles, let's enjoy the original work of the Factory. Let's praise the individual vision of each owner/tuner. What works for me may not work for you, but let's appreciate each vision of what these cars can be.

I dont think the OP is trying to say zomg these cars are better than everyone elses.
I think hes trying to get national exposure for the 1G/3G/RPR by showcasing the range of cars on this site.
Obviously with a magazine, "nicer" cars are more apt to be featured than others.
Thanks for including mine in your list smile.gif

I cant say I like ALL of the cars on this site, but i like MOST of them!

W Cracked fenders, greasey engines and torn upholestry are beautiful also.

im not so sure many would agree with that one. i find nice straight fenders, nice clean engines and nice intact seats are far more pleasing to the eyes. the beauty of the old cracked, greasy and torn cars is seen in the many restoration projects. I propose some before and after stories. showing something real to the community. before and after pics would look great in a magazine, people would eat that all up. plus a lot of times i look in magazines and all i see is $$$$$ that i dont have. our builds consist of lots of care and creative thinking, and most importantly a love for these old cars. some before and after stories, along with before and after pics would reach out to everyone, even those guys who think "wow i wish i could have that", would see that and say "wow i think i can do that!"

thats just my opinion tongue.gif

I dont think you can build what most people would see as a "magazine car" without spending a ton of time/money, even with and maybe even especially with a 1G/3G.
Its easy when the platform you start with is relatively new, has tons of aftermarket support, and is a popular current import.
Old cars and rare parts mean expensive builds.
