Does anyone know anything about swapping an accord carb?  does the manifold need to modified at all? and are the 83-85 carb's the only ones that will bolt right in?

1GCRXDX got me one of his friend's email address's that did this swap but still haven't received a response yet so i'm turning to you guys,
and yea I know that I wont see much of a gain from this but I need a new carb anyways and I figure it'd be a relatively easy mod to learn something from
Who's this torque guy I keep hearing about?

Sorry man, no idea here. I hate carb's, that's why I converted to FI.

Yeah the non cvcc Accord carb is the one that bolts right up, assuming you have the Canadian non-cvcc 84-87 CRX DX. But to be honest, I think there is a gen break between 85 and 86, and I'm not positive if it's the 85 and earlier or the 86 and later carb, but I'm pretty sure it's the 86 or 87 non cvcc Accord carb. CVCC was a US only thing. I can't really describe it, other than to say that it sort of was like having an extra set of valves, but not really...it stands for Compound Vortex Controlled Combustion, and it was a way of getting better emissions without a cat.

Let me sum it up. CVCC sucks, and you guys are damn lucky to not have it. Yes I'm jealous...

Hey Slowrexer, keep us posted on how that carb swap goes, or doesn't.  Sounds like it would be a good mod, a heck of alot simpler than an FI conversion, eh Tom?

Actually in its time when it came out, around 1973 or 74 it was one of the most sophisticated designs ever on a motor vehicle, even though it may be obsolete now it was a very good and efficient system back then, But I really hate Carbned Honda engines, the ones here in the US anyway, they all suck!!    :P

I did my homework cause i'm really anal and got the specs on cvcc but the sources weren't anything released by honda so i'm hoping its accurate but just to add some borings facts to the discussion (in case there are some other losers like me out there who care about useless info) turns out the cvcc's were in the US but not in canada cause of the 1975 muskie act even though the system was revealed in 72 and the accord cvcc engine was released in 76 (1.6L of raw power!)
