So i have a 1987 crx hf. im having a hard time figuring out if a 85 dx or 87 dx's (is that the base model?) bumper and rocker panels would be interchangeable with an 87 hf. it looks so similar. I went to a junkyard today and saw them and they seemed to be the same. I'm new to the whole Crx world so pardon my naïveté!

I'll warn you that I have no experience in swapping body parts from these generation hondas, but I would imagine so.  They might look different on the exterior, but usually their mounting style and locations will be the same.  Just think that they didn't create a completely new chassis for each model (HF, DX, Si), just bolted different crap on.

I would go for the 87 parts, I know that on the Civic hatch, the bumper 84-85 are different from 86-87 and I think the CRXs have similar change. The DX will likely be missing the lower lip on the front bumper that I think the HF had, but you should be able to move it to the DX bumper. I think for the CRX its the 86-87 Si with unique rocker panel covers. But, I'm no CRX pro.

On CRX, they all interchange.

Going to Hawaii? You need a Dune Buggy.

WTB: 14x8 or 9" Panasports or Watanabe RS.

WTB: 3g Civic hatch gauge cowl, brown.

They will physically interchange on the Civic too, but are not the correct part. I just looked up a few and part numbers are different for a few years/trims I looked at. For safety standards on the 86-87 you should only use the 86-87 bumpers, as the 84-85 don't meet the safety requirements of the newer design. I've put the 86-87 design on my 84 for what every safety improvements it may provide.

86-87 Si: 62511-SB2-910ZZ

86-87 non-Si: 62511-SB2-950ZZ
