I have two transmissions. The ring gear on the differential of one of them is 66 tooth and the counter shaft is 15 tooth. The other is 62 x 14. Is one an Si and the other a DX? Is one a lower ratio than the other?

66 / 15 = 4.4:1 (86-87 Si)

62 / 14 = 4.428:1

I believe.

Both are Si final drives. The 4.4:1 is from the 86-87s as Jeff pointed out. The 4.428:1 is from the 85 Si. I still have the one from my first 85 Si. You'd never notice any difference between the two.

If you love the Elise, drive a Se7en - Caterham or whatever...
It has even less content than the Elise, is less graceful looking
...and changes direction like a ping pong ball whacked by Thor.
