Quick Question Does 2" Cat Weld In Stock Piping

Hello,

I need a new cat and was wondering if a 2" would fit in the stock exhaust pipng of an 87 hf carbd. thanks a lot. i measured the pipe it seemed like it was ~1.5-1.75

Yes you could. You would have to use reducing fittings and weld them into place. But why not run 2" all the way?

im planning on swapping a 85mm b16 block and crank cuz u know u need the car to rev. custom turbo manifold hoping to make a reliable 400-500whp ohmy.gif so im gonna need 3" piping in the end but thats later

i just want something in there that can pass smog. but wihtout reducer wut size cat do i need inlet i want to order it soon. thanks

You need to go an auto supply store and source out the reducing fittings yourself.

Why don't you head to a wrecker and take a cat off an later model SIR or GSR - heck a GS would even do.
