Is it safe to assume he took the hood off to clearly show the engine and bay? And didn't he say he put the larger rims on for a photo shoot, and usually runs MX5 rims? I'm not one for stickers, but he seems to have the goods to back up the stickers. I still like it a lot. It takes a LOT of work and pioneering to get it into a 3rd gen considering the mags are just putting themm into 96+ Civics, and one or two 2nd gen CRXs. I give him props. More work than I can do.

Just so everyone knows, I didn't choose to take the bonnet off, the photographer wanted the bonnet off for lighting reasons because the engine bay is the centre piece. The stickers are also not a choice as they are advertising for my tuner who sponsors me. No stickers and I don't get paid sad.gif

I'm curious about what kind of power this thing makes at the wheels to run 11 sec 1/4 mile... These cars are a lot lighter than most so its hard for me to determine.. Anyone have a guess?

Power is proportional to m*s^2 / 2t

s = trap speed
t = ET
m = mass of vehicle.

If you take mass in kg, speed in m/sec, and time in sec, you'll get power in Watts.

power = work divided by time. work here is equal to the final kinetic energy minus initial kinetic energy [0]. kinetic energy is 1/2 mass times velocity squared.

Mind you, this will give you average power used to *accelerate the vehicle* (less aerodynamic drag & friction). The actual power will be more.

More information will yield more a more accurate estimate--at the expense of being more difficult to calculate (solving a second order nonlinear differential equation--such as the drag equation--is a nontrivial exercise).

Or you could just use your own timeslip as a reference. It takes about 8 times the horsepower to double your trap speed / half your ET.

Freakin' sweet!!

I'm sure its fast, and has tons of power... but the thing I'm most curious about is how badly it broke your bank. I mean... look at it, the car was worth it. I just want to know what it took.
