wrestled around with this the passed couple of days...

D04E3101-89A4-4C7D-8071-59B9C8E64574.jpg

let me tell you, there is a certain order that these motors have to go in... for the most part i usually remember them.... but keep the intake off... install the rear mount, attach it to the rear of the motor, then tinker with the left front mount.... then back to the rear to mount those two bolts to the tranny... then using a jack under the tranny just beneath the tranny mount jack it until it lines up!!

I know i'm absolutely gonna dread the day i have to change out the clutch... which coincidentally i plan on swapping the internals from an S80 into an LS tranny case, so when the clutch goes, i'll also be replacing the tranny as well... fingers crossed it all goes as planned...

now i just need to wait for my S300 to arrive and then i can hit up the tuner and get this bad boy on the road!!

do you know roughly how much room you've had to make for the intake to clear the firewall? If any?

Thank you for posting the order of the engine install, I may need it later on.

well i've got the old skunk2 intake, i know i banged out the firewall just a bit as a precaution, i've got a few mm of space back there... what really takes up room is that IACV, if you can make a remote version of it, you'll be golden... also note that i've got some stiff inserts for my mounts... i want to say 88A... like freaking hockey pucks, there is no give, but i do remember doing the install with softer inserts and you could wiggle things by hand into place... this was probably my most stubborn install i'd ever had to do because of the stiff mounts...

There are bigger things in this world to worry about than to hold up your project for an old grudge. Do what you gotta do brochacho. It's good to see progress. My gf is eyeing a job in Boise so there's a slight chance I might come and stick my nose in your business again.

It's too damn hot and humid. On the upside, Ellington afb might become a spaceport. Anyway, last I heard, autocross with the scca was in Texas shitty-I mean City; Gulf Grayhound Park.

Yep, way too hot and humid for me. I grew up in east Texas (Lake Fork) and moved north to get away from the heat (and in-laws). Circa 1990, I worked on a traveling Erecter crew that built Chevron and Mobil gas stations (learned a little about fabrication) and we did a job in Conway in August. And another in Baytown. For giggles, I put an outdoor thermometer on the top of the canopy where we stayed all day and it was 140*. No exaggeration. Any bare flesh that touched it would get a burn. I was young and stupid and only wore boots and shorts (non-Union didn't give a crap about OSHA.

I was curios if your carriage (cinderella reference) turned into a pumpkin! By the way, I think pumpkin would be an awesome color for the car. But I'm odd.

May the 4th be with you!
