Here is a hint - If you like driving while its nice and sunny, do a flat color. If you like to drive at night where there are a lot of birght lights (street lights or badly aimed headlights), do a semi-gloss. If you like driving at night where there are no lights, go ahead and do a full on super gloss.

I used Mineral spirits on my dash and just scrubbed the poop out of it and sprayed on a couple layers of Duplicolor flat black engine paint. Is that rice? I figure that since the outside of teh car is blue and black, might as well make the gutted interior look a little better. ultraflat or flat is the way to go, though.

Also, probably the only way to keep gloss from flaking is to keep it out of the sun...or using a clear coat that has UV protectant...but even then...

I like fried rice

Heres my paint job. I used the kyrlon. First washed the pieces with an amonia based cleaning product. The paint stuck ok. Make sure to give it very very very light coats or it will run like a mofo and look like shit. Heres some piks. Dont mine the chip in the paint in the top right corner of the dash. It wasnt painted with the kyrlon. Tryed some brush paint first. NOT A GOOD IDEA.

um...chedda...i don't mind that that much, since black and red sorta go together...but um...just warning you about possible flaming ensuing...specially from the neon speakers...the onlyiest thing i don't like is the sticker on your mirror....y???...

and on topic....

i have the blue interior in my crx and i painted parts of it gunmetal, its fairly close to the blue and it looks pretty good...i used wheel coating...its really thick and haven't had problems with flaking...
There are 3 goals when modding a car.
Cheap, Reliable, and Fast.
Now the down side. You only get to pick 2...

I just like the halos cause they act as a black light. I know im for it now. A spoiler and some halos..here we go wink.gif Anyways the sticker is there because i had a magnaflo muffler on there for a while. Sounded more like a bloody chevy. Took it off quick and just havent got around to taking the sticker off and cleaning the mirror.

All those parts are stock. They all came with the canadian version of the Dx. The non cvcc carb version that is. I have two maybe three sets of all that stuff. I thought that they only came on Si's thats why when i was debating wether or not my car had an si head or not. Lots of interior stuff that looks si. Wierd eh?

Also look forward to me recarpeting the doors with red carpet. Just a little darker than the dash to offset the colour.

Hey chedda_j I noticed your door skins...do you have another picture of them?

I’m having all my interior upholstering done custom and I want to make a major change to the door skins so I’m looking for some ideas

The entire tool selection at Sears or the contents of a Snap-On truck will do you no good if you do not know how to use them.
