Hi All,

Hope all are well, I just picked up my first CRX, an 87 at that. I love the size of it, and the fuel economy. After a year without out a car, due to my then 95 clean, low mileaged Acura Integra being totalled while parked, I finally found a new little toy that is just as clean and low mileaged for its year! Fall is upon us, so a lot of tweaking and additions will have to wait for spring time, but a good way to start the winter smile.gif

I do not plan to do any modifying to her as she is automatic, but am hoping to completely restore her, and keep her stock. Though she seems very clean, she will need some work here and there (i.e. driver's side headlight is rusted out sad.gif )

will post more pics shortly...

Let me know your thoughts. By the way, she is carburated and any pointers from others that that a carburated one would be greatly appreciated. I have noticed that she needs to be very well warmed up, otherwise she could possibly stall sad.gif

Regards

Nice CRX! I bought one just like yours, but mine is a 5 speed stick. It had a blow engine so I got it for $350.00. Good luck with your build.

Beautiful crx, very nice find.

There are quite a few factory option Honda had for these cars that are floating around in the FS section throughout the year you may find yourself wanting.

Good luck with it and enjoy.

the first thing you're gonna want to do is get rid of that hondamatic. eventually it will crap out. dont worry tho, because making this car into a manual is not that hard! you only need a pedal set, clutch cable, shift linkage, and transmission! if you're a good haggler at the junkyard, you could probably pick all that up for under 300! just find a redneck junkyard where they dont really know anything about hondas. you can also get a manual out of a hatchback or sedan as they are the same.

also there are many members on here that hoard parts (i am one biggrin.gif) so finding everything you need may be as simple as posting a WTB thread!

i dont blame you if you just drive the car and not worry about the trans, but i have never seen a hondamatic that didnt eventually start slipping. thats from personal experience on 88 civics to 2001 accords.

No. All the answers are in the Kakabox build thread.

Okay... you are a jerk sir... That car is waaaaaay to clean; and therefore it should be mine. wink.gif biggrin.gif

Very nice find man. Good luck with all that you do with it. Don't see too many carbd' 86-87's around where I live, usually just 84-85. So seeing flush headlights with the two-tone and red trim line is kinda neat, seeing as that's what I'm doing to mine! (minus two-tone) Hondamatic gotta go though. wink.gif

Probably one of the better mods done yet (14" HX Rims). Quick pic, as they were slapped on late last night smile.gif

Looking good, If I may make a suggestion, Learn fiberglassing techiques, then reinforce those panels (all the plastic ones, from the inside) You will find that just from driving it, they will splinter and crack. Nice call on the VX wheels. Roll on these in the warm months, and store the car, or roll in the winter, on the steelies (unless you traded off for them, then I understand)

P.S. Nice 3 piece lip. wink.gif
Honda, because it's hard to look baller in your mom's Volvo.Posted Image
The entire tool selection at Sears or the contents of a Snap-On truck will do you no good if you do not know how to use them.
