that coolant filler neck on there. do you or anyone else here know where i can get one of these? this opens a new window of opportunity for radiator and placement.
When I die, i want to go asleep peaceful.......... not screaming and freaking out like everyone else in the car

yeah, the radiator is in front of the motor...which sits kinda forward as is. FYI: It's a jeep cherokee radiator.

Jacques,FWIW but correct me if I am wrong.

What kinda suspension does it have on it? And also there are a few small things you need to address, like, How are you going to keep your fuel filter connected with track debris hitting it? Don't you need a shield for it?

27mm Mugen T-bars
tokico Illuminas
Eibach pro-kit springs (will be replaced with something stiffer)
Suspension techniques rear sway bar (need to install...it's in my garage)

As for the shielding, i never thought of it, but you're right. I'll probably fab up something cheap for the filter/pump and some exposed wiring near the front.

thanks!

while i was under the car trying (unsucsessfully) to install my ST rear sway bar i noticed two things:

1. Stainless steel brake lines....yay!!

2. Rust along the rockers. I knew the car had some rust so im not suprised (and the quarters and panhard mount are AOK), it's just sad to know her days are numbered. Dont worry though, shes got a long life ahead of her full of racing before that time comes!

enjoy,

I know its typically against racers religious beliefs to do this but. WHy don't you invest in some undercarriage spray for the off season?

you mean something to halt the progress of the rust? (it should be dealt with, but im hoping it doesnt get worse to quickly as the car wont be seeing salt...or a lot of moisture for that matter)

i just realized that the rear bumper support weighs a lot. If i just, let's say, cut out the middle of it, will i have any bumper sag problems?

on my 87, teh rear bumper is actually gone. The previous owner (a friend of mine) removed the bumper and in its place welded on a small piece of steel that the bumper cover just hangs off of. Its held on by 4 qtr turn screws and is rock solid even at high speed. I can take some pics of it if youre interested in replicating it. I think he said the old bumper weighs about 50lbs.
