In 2001 I bought an '87 that looked great, but after a couple of years the badly done bodywork broke apart, then stupid young me goi into a front end accident. Long story short, in 2005 or so I sold it since it was beyond what I could manage. Fast forward to 2020, I found an early '84 (Sept 83 build date) in the same colour as my 87. The guy I talked to told me it was solid, most body work was done etc, so I take a day off from work to drive up island to Comox and boy, was she not solid. It turns out I knew the guy selling it from about a decade ago, I didn't know before because it was his nephew that I was speaking with. I said I was going to walk away due to the amount of underbody rot, so he said I could take it free or it gets crushed. The price was right. Lots of rust repair to do, every plastic panel needs replacing, hood is cracked, only a 1.3, although it has a Weber 32/36. Pics when I figure out how to post them.
