will i notice any significant power loss by using the dx cam, fuel pump, and distributor rather than switching all over to Si parts? napa quoted me $130 for an 86 prelude fuel pump which would probably be my best bet for a pump. Trying to save cash where i can here but if it'll be a significant difference i'll spend the money for a new pump

You will have to downshift while going uphill. And yes the dx cam is ground different than the Si cam is. So from what I have been told, it will decrease performance. Plus, what are emissions like in your area? You may not pass emissions without utilizing the auxilary valves.

I use an carbed Accord pump with excellent results. I think the carbed prelude one is the same.
Can you use the DX cam in the SI head? The Si cam is much better though.
