I am willing to bet that there was a spec wheel and tire combination for that series. If the sponors/manufacturers wanted to sell a specific size and type of tire/wheel, then the racers got stuck with that combination.

I got my Momo's from a racer who used to campaign in the Renault Cup, I believe that my wheels were the spec size for that series.

Funny you should say that because the Honda Michelin Series used the Renault Cup as it's model!!

I can't remember off hand how big the wheels were in the series, I'm thinking 14" to be honest but I'm not sure. They do look pretty big in the previous picture, they could be 15"s??
